MLB Starting Pitcher Angles and Edges: Mess With The Bullpen, You Get the Horns

Josh Inglis' SP Angles & Edges is veering from the formula today a bit. Instead of targeting a pitcher prop, he's highlighting the Under on the Tigers' Team Total. In addition to Matthew Boyd doing enough, the Cleveland bullpen is elite.

Angles, edges, scams, call them what you want. If you're betting on pitcher props early, there are always a handful if you dig into the matchups.

With this article, I highlight the best pitcher angles to look into for that day's slate and how to apply that information to the many pitcher prop markets at your disposal. You might not reach the same conclusion as I do but the data is the most important part.

Let's scam some MLB player props and starting pitcher angles for Monday, October 7.

Josh's best starting pitcher edges: October 7

Detroit Tigers vs Cleveland Guardians

The angle: The Detroit offense is going to see a healthy dose of baseball's best bullpen

The Detroit Tigers might be the favorite today because Tarik Skubal is starting, but the offense will struggle to plate runs even with Matthew Boyd starting for the Cleveland Guardians.

Boyd has been reliable over his eight starts, allowing two or fewer runs in all but one, but the bullpen will shut down the Tigers. Because the Tigers are favored due to the pitching matchup alone, their team total Under 2.5 at +135 is my favorite bet in the afternoon game.

Detroit saw four-plus innings of the Cleveland bullpen in Game 1 and walked away with zero runs on zero hits, one walk, and seven strikeouts. They will see those exact arms again today and it won't be fun for the visitors.

The Guardians can throw six relievers with a sub-2.00 ERA today. Skubal might deal, but he doesn't swing a bat the last time I checked. It's the best spot to hit the Detroit team total Under in the series.

The move: Detroit Tigers team total Under 2.5 (+135 at DraftKings)
