Get out the brooms! The Toronto Blue Jays aim for a four-game sweep when they face the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park this afternoon.

Chris Bassitt will be tasked with completing the sweep, and he’s been dealing to start 2025. Meanwhile, Boston counters with Walker Buehler, who has struggled to begin his Red Sox tenure.

My Blue Jays predictions and MLB picks break down why I like Toronto to get the job done and leave Boston on a real high note.

Today’s Blue Jays best bet: Blue Jays bring out the brooms

Blue Jays moneyline (-108 at BetVictor)

The Toronto Blue Jays have taken the first three games of this four-game set against the Boston Red Sox, thanks partly to some outstanding starting pitching.

Jose Berrios, Easton Lucas, and Kevin Gausman have allowed a combined one run in this series over a ridiculous 20 1/3 innings pitched.

Next man up is Chris Bassitt, the veteran righty with a massive arsenal of pitches. And when he has a bunch of those pitches working at once, making contact can be very difficult for opposing hitters. That’s exactly what we’ve seen to start 2025.

Bassitt began the year by ultimately shutting down a very dangerous Baltimore Orioles lineup, holding them to one run on eight hits while striking out seven over six innings. He followed that up by dominating the Mets, limiting them to four hits and striking out nine over 6 2/3 shutout innings.

Things have not been as smooth for Walker Buehler.

The RHP has been a little shaky in his first two starts with his new team. Buehler allowed four runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings against the Texas Rangers before the St. Louis Cardinals took him to task, getting to him for five runs on seven hits over five innings.

That’s not a good thing going against a Blue Jays lineup with some players locked in. George Springer has the highest batting average in MLB, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. has five hits this series, and Bo Bichette has four.

The Blue Jays have an edge in starting pitching in this matchup, while Boston's bats have gone as cold as it has been in Massachusetts during this series, scoring just four runs.

Yet, the Jays are slight underdogs in this matchup, and that screams value to me. Give me Toronto to complete the sweep.

Today’s Blue Jays same-game parlay (SGP)

Blue Jays moneyline

George Springer Over 1.5 total bases

Walker Buehler Over 5.5 hits allowed

I will sound like a broken record, but I'm riding this Springer hot streak until it comes off the tracks.

Springer got a day off last night but came in to pinch-hit in the ninth inning. He made solid contact for an out, and he’s been making a lot of solid contact.

He enters this game hitting .447, but they aren’t cheapies. Springer is in the 90th percentile or better in average exit velocity, hard-hit percentage, barrel rate, and sweet-spot percentage.

While it’s a small sample size, he has one home run in three plate appearances against Buehler. Springer has two or more total bases in eight of his last nine starts. Over 1.5 total bases is a lock for these same-game parlays for now.

Speaking of Buehler, he could have his hands full with a pesky lineup that ranks seventh in batting average. He’s allowed seven hits in his first two starts and ranks in the 29th percentile in the opponent expected batting average.
