Blue Jays vs Red Sox Prediction, Picks & Odds for Today’s MLB Game

Chris Bassitt keeps batters off-balance with a kitchen-sink pitch arsenal, constantly tinkering with his offerings, relying on confusion and movement instead of pure stuff. The Blue Jays righty tops our MLB picks in today's finale vs. the Red Sox.

The Toronto Blue Jays will be looking for the four-game sweep when they face the Boston Red Sox this afternoon in the series finale at Fenway Park.

Chris Bassitt is off to a solid start, and I’ll explain why I expect that to continue here in my Blue Jays vs Red Sox predictions.

Keep reading for my MLB picks for Thursday, April 10.

Blue Jays vs Red Sox prediction

My Blue Jays vs Red Sox best bet: Chris Bassitt Under 2.5 earned runs (-110 at bet365)

Chris Bassitt is absolutely dominating for the Toronto Blue Jays to begin the 2025 campaign. He’s 1-0 in two starts with a 0.71 ERA and 16 strikeouts in 12 2/3 innings of work. The right-hander has faced two very good opponents, too, in the New York Mets and Baltimore Orioles.

First, Bassitt held the O’s to just one earned run across six frames. Then last week, the veteran contained a powerful Mets lineup to 6.2 scoreless innings. He’s hit Under 2.5 earned runs in every start from ‘25 if we also include spring training.

Bassitt pitched well against the Boston Red Sox in 2024. In four starts, he posted a 2.63 ERA, surrendering just seven earned runs in 24 innings. While several guys in this Boston lineup have enjoyed some success against Bassitt, that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re going to score a bunch of runs.

The 36-year-old is as confident as can be right now, and the Red Sox offense has been struggling in this series. He’ll keep them at bay and put Toronto in a prime position to sweep their AL East rivals.

Blue Jays vs Red Sox same-game parlay (SGP)

Chris Bassitt Under 2.5 earned runs

George Springer Over 0.5 hits

Alex Bregman Over 0.5 hits

George Springer has torn the cover off the baseball throughout the first couple of weeks. He leads the big leagues with a .447 average, smacking 17 hits in 38 at-bats.

The outfielder has at least one hit in seven of his last 10 games. He got the day off Wednesday and had just one at bat as a pinch hitter. Before that, he was 6-for-8 in the first two games of the series against the Red Sox. He’s also 1-for-3 lifetime against Walker Buehler, who takes the hill for Boston today and has struggled early.

Alex Bregman has played well after signing a mega deal with the Red Sox in the offseason. In 13 games, he’s slashing .291 with two homers, five doubles, and 11 RBI while playing consistent defense at the hot corner.

The infielder is 0-for-7 across the last two games vs Toronto, but before that, he had a hit in nine of 10 appearances. The main reason however I like this bet is due to Bregman’s success against Bassitt. He’s 10-for-26 lifetime vs. the right-hander (.385).
