My analysis
Cody Bellinger opted to test free agency last offseason before ultimately returning to Chi-Town, and boy are the Chicago Cubs glad he did. He's batting .280 with 11 home runs in 82 games and has been scorching hot since returning from a fractured finger just a few days ago.
Bellinger returned to action on Tuesday after missing nearly three weeks. He homered in that game and has collected multiple hits in his three contests since returning. The left-handed slugger is 7-for-13 with two home runs, a double, five RBI, and five runs scored while batting cleanup in those three games.
He was heating up before going on the IL as well. He started the season slower with a .226 average in April but picked that up to .290 in May and .279 in June. July was his best month thus far, albeit in only 10 games, with a .350 average and .884 OPS in 40 at-bats.
Since June 8, Bellinger is batting .323 (41-for-127) with 13 RBI and 22 runs scored in 32 games. He'
