It’s getaway day on the diamond with six matinee matchups on the board in the MLB, which means all day baseball prop bets!

We start with Sho-time in Los Angeles as Shohei Ohtani takes the ball for the Angels in what should be a pitcher’s duel going up against the Giants’ Kevin Gausman. And we can’t say no to the betting value with Trevor Bauer against the Padres.

We break down and pick these games and more with our best free MLB prop bets and predictions for Wednesday, June 23.

Today’s MLB props and picks

Giants-Angels Under 4.5 Five-Inning Total (-125)

It’s not exactly the Sho-time Special but there is no way we are getting through a Shohei Ohtani start day without highlighting a prop for the betting favorite for American League MVP.

Ohtani has led the Angels to wins in each of his last three starts, where he is pitching to a 2.65 ERA with a 1.00 WHIP while striking out 23 batters in 17 innings. He also has a 1.78 ERA and is limiting opponents to a .176 batting average in six starts at home this season.

Even though Ohtani faces a solid San Francisco lineup, the Giants have scored just 11 runs in their last six road games, with the Under going 6-0 in those games.

Countering Ohtani is Kevin Gausman, who is not getting talked about enough among the National League’s best starters this season. The right-hander is pitching to a 1.03 ERA, a 0.76 WHIP, and is limiting opponents to a .156 batting average over his last 11 starts.

Gausman gets a tough matchup against a potent Angels lineup, but they've scored just 3.31 runs per game in their last 13 contests against teams with winnings records. Bet on pitching to be the story early in this one.

Robbie Ray Over 7.5 Strikeouts (-110)

Is Robbie Ray good again? The Blue Jays left-hander is pitching to a 3.50 ERA and a 1.15 WHIP this season. Yes, he still gives up a few home runs, but he is striking out batters by the bucket-full and, most importantly, he has cut down the walks. Ray has only given out 10 free passes over his last 11 games.

Ray is coming off a bit of a rough outing against the Orioles, where he lasted just 4 1-3 innings and struck out just five batters. But that may have created an opportunity in today’s game against the Marlins. Ray faced Miami back on June 1, where he allowed just one run on six hits while striking out nine in six innings of work.

We like him to go Over this number, considering he has eclipsed it seven times in his last 11 starts and faces a Marlins team that ranks 26th in strikeouts per game, getting punched out 9.65 times per contest. Tight pants, grunts and strikeouts. That’s what you get from Ray. Tonight should be no different.

Dodgers -0.5 Five-Inning Runline (+155)

The Padres have taken the first two games of this National League West battle against the Dodgers, but that still doesn’t make me think L.A. should be an underdog in this game, particularly with Trevor Bauer on the bump.

Bauer bounced back from a sub-par three-outing stretch by shutting out the Diamondbacks on three hits over seven innings. Even with the little rough patch, Bauer is still pitching to a 2.45 ERA, a 0.94 WHIP, and is limiting opponents to a .170 batting average.

Bauer has also been solid in two starts against the Padres this season, allowing three earned runs on eight hits with 16 strikeouts in 12 innings pitched.

The Padres counter Bauer with Joe Musgrove. The right-hander has been excellent this season, owning a 2.28 ERA with a 0.85 WHIP, but he had some trouble in his lone start against the Dodgers, pitching an inefficient three innings where he racked up 77 pitches.

On top of that, the Dodgers lineup should get another boost with Cody Bellinger expected back. This game is close to a coin flip, there is no way you should be getting this value on the Dodgers to have to the lead through five innings.

It’s not an interesting story. Seriously.
