Buddy Hield has been on an absolute heater to begin his Golden State Warriors tenure, scoring 49 points across only 35 minutes in two games.
He's knocked down a blistering 18 of 26 shots, including 12-for-16 from beyond the arc. The Warriors have won their first two games by an average of 38.5 points, and none of their key players have been asked to play big minutes.
The Los Angeles Clippers have allowed the seventh-highest 3-point percentage at 39.5%, and the team is tied for the 10th-most threes allowed at 15 per tilt. Hield won’t shoot 69% from the field and 75% from 3-point range for the entire season, but he can certainly clear the Over on this prop even if his efficiency fades.
Though Golden State is favored by as many as 10 points across multiple books, this game should be the Warriors’ most competitive of the season after blowing out the Trail Blazers and Jazz — two teams that missed the playoffs a season ago.
Hield’s line represents a huge overreaction in the market, betting that he’ll cool off and fail to reach lofty scoring heights in limited playing time. Whatever the reason for this ludicrously low line, I’m giddy to take it, especially when it’s being offered as long as -105.

James Harden went for 29/12/8 in L.A.'s season opener, and he followed that up with 23/6/16 on Saturday. He’s averaging 38.8 minutes (eighth in the NBA) and is tied for fourth in the Association in usage at 35.2.
He averaged 23.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 9.5 assists in four matchups with Golden State last season, and he’s in a great position to post another big game on Sunday. He's the go-to option on offense and the primary playmaker, meaning he should rack up plenty of counting stats.
Ivica Zubac has been tremendous through the first two games of the 2024-25 campaign. He’s averaging 22.5 points, 12 rebounds, and 3.5 assists while logging 36.5 minutes per tilt. Zoob’s career-high in minutes heading into this season was 28.6, but if early playing time is indicative of things to come, he could shatter that mark.
L.A.'s frontcourt depth was gutted in the offseason with the losses of Mason Plumlee and Daniel Theis, and even if Mo Bamba is available, he won’t play too many minutes. Zubac should have no problem hitting the Over on this puny line after two monster performances to open the season.
