With nine games on today’s NBA slate, there are plenty of intriguing player props to choose from, but I’ve rounded up my top NBA picks for Sunday, January 12.
They include a points+rebounds prop for New York Knicks center Karl-Anthony Towns, as well as some scoring props for Paolo Banchero and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

NBA player props for January 12
Prop bet #1: Karl-Anthony Towns Over 37.5 points+rebounds
Karl-Anthony Towns has fit in nicely during his first season with the New York Knicks, ranking third in points (25.3) and second in rebounds (13.9) among all NBA centers. I’ll be looking for him to rack up both this afternoon against the Milwaukee Bucks.
Towns is having a hot start to 2025. He has averaged 28.4 points and 16.4 boards per game so far this month and has racked up Over 37.5 points+rebounds in six of his last seven contests.
While KAT will be competing with Giannis Antetokounmpo on the glass, who’s been averaging nearly 12 boards per game himself, Milwaukee as a team has not been great at rebounding.
The Bucks rank 27th in the league in opponent defensive rebounds (34.7) and 23rd in opponent total rebounds (45.2) per game. Meanwhile, Towns and the Knicks are allowing just 40.9 opponent rebounds per contest, tied with the Magic for the best mark in the NBA.
On the shooting side of things, KAT is dropping in 56.5% of his field goal attempts this month while averaging a season-high 18.4 attempts per game. With Towns accounting for about 25% of the Knicks’ scoring, he should have a good shot at this prop.
Prop bet #2: Paolo Banchero 25+ points
Paolo Bancheromade an immediate impact in his return to the Orlando Magic lineup on Friday night, dropping a team-high 34 points while shooting 5-for-8 from 3-point range.
It was a surprise to pretty much everyone he looked so sharp in his first game in more than two months, as oddsmakers set his points prop at just 17.5. They’ve bumped it up a few more points to 23.5 tonight, but I’m looking for him to aim a little higher.
One reason we could see another high-scoring effort from Banchero is the lack of offensive options around him. The Magic have been depleted by injuries this season and are still missing three of their four top scorers: Franz Wagner, Jalen Suggs, and Moritz Wagner.
With no other Magic player averaging more than 10 points per game, that leaves Banchero to fend for himself offensively. It’s no surprise the former first-overall pick tossed up 21 field goal attempts in his first game back, and we’ll almost certainly see another high-volume shooting game from Banchero tonight.
Prop bet #3: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander Over 32.5 points
If you’re looking for a star to give you a safety net on the score sheet, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been the man this season.
The OKC point guard has led the NBA in scoring since the start of December with 33.2 points per game, and I suspect he’ll run it up against a weak Wizards team tonight.
SGA has dropped at least 33 points in three of his last four outings and seven of his last 10, a span which includes a 41-point effort against the Wizards on December 23.
Washington has been the NBA’s worst defensive team this season, allowing 122.3 points per game, and there hasn’t been much improvement down the stretch.
The Wizards are coming off a brutal 138-105 loss to the Bulls on Friday and have given up 132+ points in three of their last five contests.
Zach LaVine dropped 33 for the Bulls in that game while CJ McCollum put up a career-high 50 for the Pelicans just a few games before that. It should be Gilgeous-Alexander’s turn for another easy point night vs Washington.
