NBA player props for December 1
Prop bet #1: Victor Wembanyama Over 34.5 points + rebounds
Victor Wembanyama has already developed into one of the NBA’s most dominant players in his second season in the league. It’s still early, but the center has almost singlehandedly pulled the San Antonio Spurs into playoff contention this year following an abysmal 22-60 record last season.
Wemby has been a two-way force for San Antonio, leading the team in points (23.4), rebounds (10), and blocks (3.6) per game. I’m looking for him to put up some big numbers against the Sacramento Kings tonight to cash the Over on 34.5 points and rebounds.
After averaging just 18.2 points per game in October, Wemby saw his scoring take a leap in November as that number jumped to 25.7. The center has recorded 20+ points in seven straight games — a span that includes a career-high 50-point performance against the Wizards on November 13.
His rebounding has been just as dominant, though, as he’s collected 10+ boards in four of his last seven outings, averaging 10.6 per game during that span.
Prop bet #2: Jayson Tatum Over 3.5 threes
Jayson Tatum has always loved to shoot threes, but the Boston Celtics star has taken his long-range game to another level this season, averaging a career-high four makes and 10.6 attempts per game from beyond the arc.
The superstar forward has dropped 76 treys this season — fourth-most in the NBA — and comes into tonight’s contest on a hot streak, having notched 4+ threes in nine of his last 12 contests.
Derrick White, who follows Tatum closely with 72 threes made this season, is listed as questionable with a foot injury, which could give Tatum even more touches from long-range against the Cleveland Cavaliers.
The Cavs have been one of the NBA’s worst teams at defending the three — they rank 29th in opponent 3-point percentage (38.5%) and 25th in opponent 3-point makes per game (14.3).
Prop bet #3: Domantas Sabonis Over 13.5 rebounds
Across from Wembanyama is another dominant force on the glass in Domantas Sabonis. The Sacramento Kings big man ranks second among all players this season with 12.9 rebounds per game and will be battling Wemby all night on the glass.
Sabonis could have the upper hand in that battle, as he’s collected 10+ rebounds in 17 of 18 games this season and 14+ boards in three of his last five contests. He pretty much has a monopoly on rebounding for the Kings, as Keegan Murray (7.9) is the only other player on the team averaging more than five per game.
Sabonis does most of his work on the defensive glass, where he averages 10 rebounds per game compared to just 2.9 on offense. Fortunately for him, Wembanyama also heavily favors defensive boards (7.9) compared to offensive ones (2.1), so Sabonis should be able to clean up on his half of the court.
