There are some great matchups on the NBA schedule on Tuesday night. But nothing holds a candle to the main event. Luka Doncic will face the Dallas Mavericks for the first time since they unceremoniously shipped him off to the Los Angeles Lakers.

So you know my NBA player props must have a play on Luka for this epic showdown. Plus, I scoured the rest of the schedule to bring you my three favorite NBA picks for Tuesday, February 25.

NBA player props for February 25

De'Aaron Fox Over 2.5 threes (+155 at bet365)

The San Antonio Spurs were dealt a devastating blow when it was announced that Victor Wembanyama would miss the rest of the season with a blood clot in his shoulder. It’s unlikely the Spurs would have made the playoffs but it was fun watching Wemby find his groove with new running mate De'Aaron Fox.

Well, for now, it’s Fox’s show, which can still be exhilarating. Fox came flying out of the gates after the All-Star break. He opened the unofficial second half by putting up 26 points on 8 of 19 shooting against the Suns and followed that up with a 27-point performance, going 11-for-18 from the floor against the Pistons. Fox also went 3-for-7 from 3-point range in both of those games.

Fox then had a dud of a game against the New Orleans Pelicans of all teams. The Pelicans are tied with the Utah Jazz for having the worst record in the Western Conference at 14-43. They are also among the worst defensive teams in the NBA, ranking 28th in defensive rating and 29th in opponent effective field-goal percentage.

So, it was surprising to see Fox score just 13 points on 3 of 16 shooting when these teams met on Sunday.

It’s unlikely the Pels will hold Fox down for a second straight game, particularly when defending him on the perimeter. New Orleans allows the second-most 3-point attempts and makes per game while ranking 23rd in opponent 3-point shooting percentage.

Ja Morant Over 4.5 rebounds (+100 at bet365)

The Phoenix Suns are setting much faster than expected. Phoenix has dropped eight of its last 10 games — straight up and against the spread — and things don’t get any easier tonight as they take on the Memphis Grizzlies as 8.5-point road dogs.

Sitting in 11th place in the West, the Suns have never found their groove this season and it may cost them a playoff spot.

Meanwhile, Memphis is sitting pretty in third and is a big favorite here because it has edges all over the floor, including on the glass.

The Grizz rank second in rebounding rate, compared to 26th for the Suns. Phoenix also ranks 24th in opponent rebounds per game. The difference here is that everyone on the Grizzlies rebounds. Even a 6-foot-2 point guard like Ja Morant.

Now, Morant has seen his scoring dip a touch this season but that hasn't stopped him from contributing in other areas, averaging 7.4 assists and 4.1 rebounds per game.

He’s topped 4.5 rebounds in four of his last eight games, including hauling down seven boards in a 119-112 Memphis win when these teams met on Feb. 11.

At even money, there is value in Morant to go Over this number once again.

Luka Doncic Over 9.5 rebounds (-105 at bet365)

You knew we had to have a player prop for Luka Doncic’s first matchup against his former team. Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers will host the Dallas Mavericks, and it should be a fun one.

Lakers fans got their first real Luka game last time out as Doncic put up 32 points while going 4-for-9 from 3-point range to go along with 10 rebounds and seven assists. That’s all it took for Luka’s double-double prop to go from +140 to -150.

But I want to keep my focus on the glass. The Lakers obviously have a hole down low after trading Anthony Davis and the Mark Williams acquisition fell through. You can take that two ways. You can either fade L.A. on the boards or expect Doncic to put up some gaudy rebounding numbers because no one else on the Lakers can or will.

I’m going with the latter. Doncic has now grabbed double-digit boards in two straight and I’m betting he can make it three.

That’s in part because the Mavs injury report looks like a big man graveyard. Davis, Dereck Lively, and Daniel Gafford are all out long-term. And now, Dwight Powell and PJ Washington are considered day-to-day.

Luka has a rebounding prop set at 9.5 for his showdown with his former team. You know he’ll jack up a bunch of shots, but look for him to stuff the stat sheet to show his former employer how badly they messed up.
