The Minnesota Timberwolves are fresh off a three-point victory over the Denver Nuggets on Friday, and the San Antonio Spurs blew out the Utah Jazz on Thursday. Both teams will be looking to extend their win streaks when they clash at Frost Bank Center tonight.

My analysis
The San Antonio Spurs’ defense wasn’t great a season ago, but this unit has surrendered the third-fewest points to opponents through five games, giving up just 105 per tilt. The Minnesota Timberwolves aren’t far behind, as they allow the 12th-fewest points at 112.4.
The defensive play has been excellent, but neither of these teams has excelled on offense. Minnesota ranks 18th in points per game at 113, and San Antonio ranks 29th at just 103.6. The Wolves have hit the Over in three of five, but the Spurs have hit the Under in four of five.
The Wolves will play the second game of a back-to-back set after a hard-fought victory over the Nuggets last night. The Spurs are rested, and San Antonio’s defense will do whatever it can to limit Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle.
These two teams played each other five times last year and went 1-3-1 to the Under. In 2023-24, the Spurs went 6-10 to the Under in divisional games, and the Wolves went 9-14. I’m taking the Under in what’s shaping up to be a defensive clash between division rivals.

After a down year in Golden State, Chris Paul has looked great to start his San Antonio tenure. He’s averaging 7.8 assists across 28.6 minutes after averaging just 6.8 assists across 26.4 minutes last season.
CP3 has dished at least eight dimes in four of five games this season, and I’m betting he does it again against Minnesota.
Paul logged a season-high 32 minutes in Thursday’s win over Utah, handing out 10 assists and nearly posting a triple-double. Tonight’s matchup with Minnesota could be a close one, and Paul will need to be on the floor for big minutes to lead his team as a facilitator. I’m taking the Over without hesitation.
Through five games of the 2024-25 season, Jeremy Sochan looks like a certified breakout thanks to averages of 17 points, 8.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists. He’s averaging a career-high 32 minutes per game and ranks second in points, rebounds, and assists.
Sochan has hit the Over in four of five games this season, and there’s no reason to bet against him tonight. He’s averaging 28.4 PRAs, and he’s compiled at least 30 in three of five. This line is set far too low based on Sochan’s strong play, and I’m adding it as the final leg of this +800 parlay.
