My analysis
The offseason can’t come soon enough for the Charlotte Hornets, who've dropped six in a row and slumped to a miserable double-digit loss against the Washington Wizards over the weekend. That latest setback says it all.
Now the Hornets have to deal with Steph Curry and a Golden State Warriors team that should have Jimmy Butler back after he missed Saturday’s loss in Philadelphia.
Despite a rocky season for Steve Kerr’s men, I’m all-in on the new-look Warriors. They’re 7-1 with Butler in the lineup, scoring 119 points or more in their last five contests.
This has been a friendly matchup for them too. Golden State has won four straight meetings against Charlotte — covering the spread in each of those victories — including a 128-92 win at Chase Center last week. Three of those spreads were 12 points or higher.
The hosts are 1-9 in their past 10 outings and haven’t scored more than 100 points in any of their past five games.
For all the attention on Curry, who faces brother Seth tonight, the biggest X-factor might be the Golden State bench. While Charlotte head coach Charles Lee relies on inexperienced backups in big spots, Kerr can call on Buddy Hield, Kevon Looney and Gary Payton II to anchor his second unit.
The Warriors won by 18 points at Spectrum Center last season, so a similar scoreline would be expected in this one.

Mark Williams double-double
The Butler trade has done wonders for Steph — but don’t sleep on its impact on Draymond Green either. Green put up a 13-8-8 line in prime-time over the weekend, and I expect another do-it-all performance tonight.
Draymond has gone past this points + rebounds O/U line in his last three games, and he’s scored 12 or more points in six of his previous seven outings. With most of the responsibility on the glass, Green has grabbed 18 boards across his last two contests.
Mark Williams has had to settle back into life with the Hornets after his trade to the Los Angeles Lakers fell apart, but that hasn’t affected his numbers.
Williams has posted three straight double-doubles, including 24 points and 12 rebounds on Saturday against the Wizards, and I see him adding to that streak here against an undersized Golden State frontcourt.

- While the Warriors are just a pedestrian 15-15 on their travels this season, the Hornets’ 9-21 home record doesn’t offer much comfort.
- The Under is 7-3 in Charlotte’s last 10 games and 36-22-1 overall for the hosts this year, but Golden State has cashed in the Over in seven of its last 10 contests and four of its last five.
