The ultimate March Madness pool is run by Berkshire Hathaway CEO Warren Buffett. Over the years, Buffett has run office pools and public pools with often insane jackpots. The most famous is the Warren Buffett Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge.

Below, we’ll have information on all of the best March Madness bracket contests for 2025. That includes info on whether or not Buffett’s Bracket Challenge is happening this year.

Is the Warren Buffett Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge happening this year?

Bracket challenges are rolling out with the NCAA Tournament about to start. So, is the famed Warren Buffett Billion Dollar Bracket Challenge happening this year?

Yes, it is. However, the contest is not public and is limited to Berkshire Hathaway employees.

Due to it being pretty much mathematically impossible to fill out a perfect bracket, Buffett has made winning prize money in his office pool a little more attainable.

If a Berkshire Hathaway employee picks at least 30 out of 32 first round matchups correctly, he or she will win $1 million. If no one is able to go 30-for-32, a $250,000 prize will go to whoever picks the most March Madness winners.

Buffett has only gone public with his bracket challenge once. That came in 2014, and — you guessed it — no one emerged with a perfect bracket.

Free March Madness bracket contests

While you won't be able to enter Buffett’s bracket challenge this year, there are still plenty of free March Madness bracket contests available to enter.

March Madness betting sites have a ton of sportsbook promos and sign-up bonuses this time of year, so be sure and check all of those out ahead of the start of the NCAA Tournament.

What are the odds of a perfect bracket?

If you think winning the Powerball jackpot is impossible, wait until you see the odds of filling out a perfect bracket.

Unfortunately, the odds of you filling out an error-free March Madness bracket are one in 9.2 quintillion.

To give you an idea of just how impossible that is, winning Powerball is "only" 1 in 292.2 million.
