Both of these schools are 7-3 but the Jayhawks three losses came against schools in the Top 25 at KenPom. Meanwhile NC State's defeats came against teams between No. 30 and No. 57. It's worth noting that Kansas has been without superstar guard Darryn Peterson (20.0 ppg on 54/43/82 shooting splits) for seven games due to a hamstring injury. He returned to the lineup last Sunday without missing a beat in a blowout win against Missouri. With Peterson, center Flory Bidunga (14.7 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 2.5 bpg), and wing Tre White (14.3 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 44.8 3PT%), Kansas has one of the best trios in college hoops. And the Jayhwaks rank eighth in the country in adjusted defense which should help them pull off the upset on the road. 

Southern Utah has gone 1-7 against Div 1 foes with their only victory coming by two points aganst ASUN doormat Stetson. The Thunderbirds lost by more than 20 points to Washington State and UT Rio Grande Valley while getting clobbered 122-50 by Gonzaga. They are 356th in the country in opponent eFG% (59%) while also sitting outside the Top 300 in eFG% (46.4%). They play at a fast pace which leads to more possessions and a higher likelyhood of an opponent winning with margin. Washington is one of the most talented teams that isn't in the Top 25. With the Huskies offensive firepower and depth, they'll be able to cover this big spread here. 

Tucker DeVries is a high-volume outside shooter for this Indiana team. He deferred to Lamar Wilkerson a bit against the Nittany Lions, with his six attempts from outside the arc marking just the second time in the last seven games where he’s not fired off at least 10. Those two games are also the only two in that span where he’s made fewer than three.

The Wildcats are struggling with transition defense this season, particularly at locating outside shooters. They’re also allowing a 3-pt shot rate of 41.3% on the season, ranking 218th in the nation.

Only 35 teams attempt a higher rate of outside shots than the Hoosiers, and they rank 36th nationally as well with a 38.2% success rate. When the Wildcats played against Louisville—who leads the nation in 3-pt rate—they allowed 40 attempts from downtown, with three different Cardinals making at least three. DeVries will cash in on the high-quality looks.
