Seton Hall vs Rutgers Prediction, Picks, and Odds for Today’s College Basketball Game

Rutgers' inability to guard the perimeter will allow Dylan Addae-Wusu to feed his teammates and rack up assists.

The Seton Hall Pirates have dominated the recent Garden State Hardwood Classic history, but today, the Pirates are heavy underdogs against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.

Rutgers has a talented group of freshmen whose defense hasn’t caught up with its offense, and my Seton Hall vs. Rutgers predictions expect the Pirates to score buckets.

Read on for my college basketball picks for Saturday, December 14.

Seton Hall vs Rutgers prediction

My best bet
Dylan Addae-Wusu Over 2.5 assists (+105 at bet365)

My analysis
The Garden State Hardwood Classic is always a good battle between two of the best teams in New Jersey.

The Seton Hall Pirates have won seven of their last 10 showdowns, but they've scored 70+ points only once this season. Fortunately for them, it was this past Sunday against a good Oklahoma State Cowboys group.

Seton Hall has shot the ball poorly this season, draining only 40% from inside the arc and 36% from outside. Against OSU, those numbers spiked to 50% from the field and 38% from downtown.

That’s why I’m betting on Pirates guard Dylan Addae-Wusu to drop at least three dimes today. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights are young, and they surrender 43% shooting from inside the arc and a whopping 34% from downtown.

As a result, Rutgers has allowed 76+ in four of its last five. The Knights don’t defend the triple well at all, and the Pirates will fire away with Addae-Wusu getting more than a few opportunities to rack up assists.

Seton Hall vs Rutgers same-game parlay

Dylan Addae-Wusu Over 2.5 assists

Garwey Dual Over 0.5 threes

Over 133.5

30% boost available

The leaky Rutgers defense is the main reason why the Addae-Wusu assists prop is my best bet, and Garwey Dual should be a recipient of his teammates' graciousness.

Seton Hall relies on the triple for 31% of its points production. The only way it can beat Rutgers is to knock down triples.

Dual lands only 20% from downtown, but he’s seen a dramatic rise in his minutes, and his +160 price to land one against a bad defensive team is too good to pass up.

Seton Hall plays physical defense, but the young guns from Rutgers have far better offensive players. The Knights don’t defend at all, and the Pirates are coming off their best-scoring night of the season.

The Pirates’ improved scoring has seen them trending Over in their last two, and I’ll take a shot at the Over for this 30% boosted same-game parlay ticket.
