The UCLA Bruins brace for their first taste of Big Ten tournament action, facing the Wisconsin Badgers in the quarterfinals on Friday.

The Bruins have quietly climbed the conference standings after a rough start to their Big Ten debut, winning 11 of their final 14 games to earn the No. 4 seed in the conference postseason.

A big part of that success is the improved playmaking of junior guard Dylan Andrews, and I’m circling his assist prop for my best UCLA vs. Wisconsin predictions and college basketball picks on March 14.

Who will win Wisconsin vs UCLA?

Ooooooh, this is a close one. The spread is a 1-point margin in favor of the Wisconsin Badgers, but the moneyline is -110 a side. Game forecasts lean toward Wisconsin in a very tight game, so I’ll give the nod to the Badgers.

Wisconsin vs UCLA prediction

My best bet: Dylan Andrews Over 3.5 Assists (+120 at bet365)

Dylan Andrews took a while to find his role as a playmaker for the UCLA Bruins but has blossomed as a premier passer in Big Ten play.

The 6-foot-2 guard is averaging 3.5 assists in conference action and upped that output to 4.5 dimes over the last 13 contests.

Andrews has dished out four or more assists in five of his last seven showing, including seven helpers in just 19 minutes in the blowout win versus Southern Cal in the season finale.

Andrews was also a prominent passer when UCLA clashed with Wisconsin on January 2, recording seven assists in 34 minutes – lifting the Bruins to an 85-83 victory.

As an offense, UCLA has greatly benefited from Andrews’ improvements as a playmaker. Overall, the Bruins boasted the second-highest assist-to-FGM ratio in Big Ten play (17.6%) and upped that percentage to 20.5% in the final five games of the schedule.

Andrews, himself, owns an assist rate (possessions that end in an assist) of 33% in his last 10 contests (third highest in the Big Ten) and pumped that metric to 36.3% in the final five games of the season.

His assist prop for Friday’s quarterfinal clash with the Wisconsin Badgers is 3.5 Over/Under – a mark he’s surpassed in eight of 13 games going back to that first run-in with the Badgers. Player projections range from 3.5 assists to 4.2 dimes, with my number at 3.8 assists from Andrews.

That gives us some solid value on Over 3.5 assists at +120.
