CFB Week 8 ATS picks

Oregon (-27.5) vs. Purdue: Oregon -27.5

An obvious letdown spot for Oregon, but not one I suspect the Ducks will fall victim to, not against one of the worst Power Four programs in the nation.

Miami vs. Louisville (+5): Louisville +5

It's insane to see the Canes still undefeated when you consider the 10-point and 25-point comebacks they had to make the last two games to stay that way. You have to think a loss is coming and Louisville might just be the team to do it.

Virginia vs. Clemson (-21): Clemson -21

Despite being 4-2, this is an awful spot for Virginia against a Clemson team that's found another gear in recent weeks. The Tigers have now won five straight by an average of 29.4 points.

Nebraska vs. Indiana (-6.5): Nebraska +6.5

Indiana has three Big Ten wins, but those teams have a combined 1-9 record in conference play. Yes, Nebraska has a loss on its record but it did smash a Colorado team that's proving to be much better than we thought.

Auburn vs Missouri (-4.5): Missouri -4.5

Even if Mizzou did get its doors blown off by Texas A&M, this team is still a tier or two above Auburn (0-3 in SEC play) in the SEC hierarchy. Lay the small number.

Alabama (-3) vs. Tennessee: Alabama -3

In a battle of two teams that should have lost last week, I'll take the better quarterback and the more trustworthy offense.

Michigan (-3) vs. Illinois: Illinois +3

Between barely hanging on to beat Purdue last week and playing No. 3 Penn State tight a couple of weeks prior, you never quite know what you're going to get from Illinois. Still, I have even less faith in Michigan's offense.

Colorado vs. Arizona (-3.5): Colorado +3.5

The bar got raised after beating Utah in Week 5, but Arizona continues to fall short and is now 1-5 ATS on the season. The Buffs have covered in four straight games and I expect that streak to get extended this weekend.

LSU (-2.5) vs. Arkansas: LSU -2.5

Arkansas is now 5-1 ATS after beating Tennessee outright two weeks ago, but with quarterback Taylen Green's status unknown, I'm leaning toward LSU.

Georgia vs. Texas (-4): Texas -4

Texas beat its biggest rival by a bigger margin than Georgia did against 1-5 Mississippi State. Need I say more?
