East Carolina vs Tulsa Props: The Houser Always Wins

The surging East Carolina Pirates can clinch a bowl berth with a win over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane tonight.

Behind the recently installed Katin Houser at QB, the Pirates are averaging 44.3 points per game over the last three. They now arrive at Tulsa — who own the worst scoring defense in the American Athletic Conference.

It’s no surprise, then, that ECU players dot our favorite player props, college football picks, and East Carolina vs. Tulsa predictions below.

East Carolina vs Tulsa college football player props

Prop bet #1: Katin Houser Over 299.5 passing yards

-114 at FanDuel

Katin Houser is coming off a monster performance over Florida Atlantic — an above-average pass defense, ranked sixth in the conference in pass yards per game allowed — going 17-for-22 for 343 yards and five TD passes in a 49-14 demolition.

What can Houser do against not just the worst passing defense in the AAC, but in the entire college football sphere?

Tulsa allows 308.6 yards per game through the air, ranking 133 ... of 133.

Three of the last five QBs they’ve faced have thrown for over 400 yards, with Temple’s Evan Simon missing three bills by three yards.

The only other team they’ve held under 300? The pass-averse Army Black Knights. Houser should set the Golden Hurricanes on fire in this one.

Prop bet #2: Winston Wright Jr. anytime touchdown

-160 at FanDuel

It’s no coincidence that Winston Wright Jr’s sudden scoring burst coincides with Houser’s move into the starting lineup.

Since the QB change, Wright has caught at least one TD pass in all three games. His four TD grabs over that span are two more than he had in the previous six games.

Last time out, he caught three balls for 80 yards and his first multi-TD game of the season.

Tulsa has allowed an AAC-worst 28 TD passes against, including eight to wide receivers over the last two games.

East Carolina’s leading pass-catcher should continue his scoring streak against Tulsa.

Prop bet #3: Rahjai Harris Under 51.5 rushing yards

-114 at FanDuel

All this offense, and we’re raining on the running backs’ parade?

Harris has cruised by his 51.5 rush total in each of the last two games while also scoring TDs in back-to-back contests. That also includes a 130-yard effort, a yard off his season high.

Unfortunately, he’s done damage against Temple and FAU — two of the Bottom-3 run defenses in the AAC. Both schools surrender well over 200 rushing yards per game.

Before this fun run, Harris had rushed for less than 52 yards in three of the previous four.

Tulsa is a Top-5 run defense, and with passing the pathway to East Carolina's success, the run game should be an afterthought. They might hand it off when it’s a blowout, but Harris should be sitting with the rest of the starters by then.
