Not much has gone right for the San Francisco 49ers this season — but misery loves company, and an SNF matchup with the misfiring Dallas Cowboys could be a springboard for Kyle Shanahan’s men.
Dallas has had a bye week to digest the embarrassing 47-9 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 6, but my Cowboys vs. 49ers predictions suggest that might not be long enough.
I’m taking a closer look at tonight’s main markets, and my NFL picks are locked in on big games for CeeDee Lamb and George Kittle in this October 27 showdown.
Cowboys vs 49ers SNF predictions
- 49ers -5.5 (-115 at bet365)
- Under 48 (Odds at bet365)
- Lamb Over 74.5 receiving yards (-110 at bet36)
- Kittle anytime touchdown (+137 at bet365)
Cowboys vs 49ers SNF best bets
49ers -5.5
With so many key absences, the San Francisco 49ers were no match for the elite Chiefs defense last weekend, but this is a nice bounceback spot for Brock Purdy against a Micah Parsons-less Dallas defense.
Losing Brandon Aiyuk for the season is a blow, but the news that Deebo Samuel and George Kittle should both be good to go tonight is enough for me to lay the points with San Fran.
While all three of the Cowboys’ wins this year have come on the road, their flaws were exposed against the Lions, and I still don’t see where the big plays are going to come from if CeeDee Lamb is blanketed.
The 49ers are averaging 404.3 yards per game — third-most in the league — while only four teams are giving up more rushing yards per game than Dallas. It feels like a busy night for Jordan Mason and some much-needed home cooking for San Francisco.
Under 48
San Francisco’s last two home games have cashed in the Under, as have Dallas’ past two road outings — and I’m sticking with that trend with the O/U line at 48.
The 49ers have hit the team total Under in eight of their last 11 games, and I’m also buying into the hosts’ ability to pressure Dak Prescott and dominate an overmatched Cowboys offensive line.
Neither offense is at full health nor firing on all cylinders, so we could see a shortage of big plays, and San Francisco will be happy to take chunks off the clock with the running game.
The Over just doesn’t feel like a value pick when the Cowboys were held to three field goals last time out, and Prescott completed just 17 of his 33 passes.
Keep in mind, too, that Dallas hasn’t scored more than 20 points since Week 3.
CeeDee Lamb Over 74.5 receiving yards
Throughout even the gloomiest stretches of Dallas’ first six games, CeeDee Lamb has popped up with big catches and impressive stat lines — and he’s the one Cowboy worth trusting tonight in the NFL player props market.
Lamb has had 7+ targets in every contest this year, including 14 against Detroit in Week 6, and I like the Over on his receiving yard total with that kind of volume.
He’s finished with 89+ receiving yards three times already this season, and I see him creating separation even with a regular dose of San Francisco double teams.
Equally, I don’t have a lot of faith in the Dallas running game as Rico Dowdle and Dalvin Cook go up against Fred Warner and an imposing San Francisco front seven.
The Cowboys could see a lot of third-and-long situations at Levi’s Stadium, and that’s where Lamb does some of his best work.

George Kittle anytime touchdown
The 49ers have been sweating on Kittle’s availability all week, and it’s a huge boost that he’s expected to play — especially with his production in the red zone.
Kittle already has five touchdowns this season, including a pair of scores against the Seahawks in Week 6, and Purdy has been quick to spot mismatches for his tight end.
Jordan Mason was another consideration, but with such short odds for the running back to get into the end zone, I’m turning instead to decent plus-money odds for Kittle, who's primed to pick on a shaky Dallas linebacker crew.
This doesn’t feel like a high-scoring thriller, but San Francisco seems like the likelier team to have multiple red-zone trips.
