Giants vs Seahawks Picks, Predictions, and Best Bets: Walker Headlines Loaded Seattle Attack

Kenneth Walker has proven to be among the most efficient ball-carriers after contact, and we expect Seattle's lead running back to thrive against New York on Sunday.

The Seattle Seahawks are dealing with defensive injuries and a short turn around, but they're catching the Malik Nabers-less New York Giants at home on the Week 5 schedule.

Nabers’ concussion spells trouble for this 1-3 New York team, and my Giants vs. Seahawks predictions believe Kenneth Walker III is in for a big day for the Seattle offense.

Check out my free NFL picks for October 6.

Giants vs Seahawks prediction

My best bet
Kenneth Walker Over 70.5 rushing yards (-115 at BetMGM)

My analysis

Out of necessity, the Seattle Seahawks have leaned into their aerial attack this season. However, Seattle has extra gear when Kenneth Walker III is thumping his way through defenses in the ground game. Walker currently ranks Top-10 in yards after contact per carry, and his absence was felt in Weeks 2 and 3.

The former Michigan Spartan was back with a bang on Monday, turning 12 carries into 80 yards and three touchdowns on Monday Night Football despite a pass-heavy game script. With his big-play speed, Walker even reached 20.33 mph on a second-half touchdown run.

I’m grabbing the Over on the 70.5 line for Walker’s rushing yards here, as the running back has eclipsed that number in both appearances this season, including an impressive outing in the season opener where he gashed the Broncos for 103 yards and a score.

Although the New York Giants can generate a pass rush with Kayvon Thibodeaux and Dexter Lawrence set to test Seattle’s fragile offensive line, the visitors may have fewer answers when it comes to slowing down Walker. New York is allowing 118.8 rushing yards per game this season (which ranks in the middle of the pack), but that’s coming at the cost of 4.7 yards per attempt (sixth worst in the league).

I don’t see the Seahawks needing to throw the ball as aggressively on Sunday, and that paves the way for Walker to shine in Week 5.

Giants vs Seahawks same-game parlay

Kenneth Walker III Over 70.5 rushing yards

Geno Smith Over 1.5 passing touchdowns

Giants team total Under 18.5 points

Until Kirk Cousins’ monster effort on Thursday night, Geno Smith was leading the league in passing yards, yet he somehow hasn’t thrown more than one touchdown pass in any of Seattle’s four games so far. I see that changing on Sunday, as Smith is thriving in an offense that features DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba out wide.

With the potential for good field position against a limited New York offense, Smith should get ample red zone opportunities, even if he ends up with more modest passing stats in Week 5.

I’m also picking against this Giants offense without their only real game-changer. Malik Nabers’ numbers to start his rookie season prompt a double take, with a 38.2% target share that’s easily the highest in the league. Running back Devin Singletary (doubtful) may also miss out on Sunday, and that could leave Wan’Dale Robinson as the visitors’ most dangerous pass-catcher.

A depleted Seattle defense was torched on MNF, but I don’t see Daniel Jones consistently troubling them. Although Jones threw for 281 yards against the Cowboys in Week 4, he didn’t manage a single TD pass as New York settled for five field goals.

The Giants have also scored 18 points or fewer in three of their four contests this year, including a six-point dud against the Vikings in Week 1.
