Packers vs Seahawks Predictions, Picks, Odds and Best Bets for Sunday Night Football

Josh Inglis believes Sunday Night Football will be won by the team that can get the most out of their run game, which is why he's backing the Packers, and specifically, Josh Jacobs in NFL Week 15.

If the playoffs were to start this week, this exact matchup with the Seattle Seahawks hosting the Green Bay Packers would be a Wild Card game, so it's safe to say Sunday night's pivotal NFC tilt has big playoff implications.

Despite the home-field advantage at Lumen Field, the Seahawks are 2.5-point home dogs vs. the visiting Packers, who sit third in the NFC North with a 9-4 record but come into the primetime contests with extra rest.

Read on for my best Packers vs. Seahawks predictions and NFL picks for tonight's showdown, kicking off at 8:20 p.m. ET and airing on NBC.

Packers vs Seahawks predictions and picks for Sunday Night Football

Packers vs Seahawks spread

There is a possibility that this game sees a ton of wind, but there might also be none. Some models are projecting 40+ mph gusts with near-20-mph sustained winds while others are projecting next to nothing. If the wind is expected at this severity, the total will fall, and the Packers might get shorter because of it.

However, a game in the wind would benefit the Packers more as they're the better running team despite what Zach Charbonnet did in Week 14. I think this game sets up well for the extra-rested Packers, and -2.5 is the side I'd prefer, but it could drop if this total takes a hit.

Packers vs Seahawks moneyline

If I'm rolling with the Cheeseheads and 2.5 points, I'm expecting a moneyline win at -150. They come in rested having played on Thursday in Week 14 and the running game could use a solid break as Josh Jacobs has been wearing down but gets to play on a Sunday for the first time since Week 12. Jordan Love also has been playing better and could be in full health after a pair of injuries earlier in the season (MCL and groin). He has not thrown an interception in three straight games which is the longest stretch of his career.

Packers vs Seahawks Over/Under

This total is starting to fall. It opened at 47 and hit 45.5 as of Wednesday afternoon. There is a chance that it could fall below 42 if the severe wind turns out to be true. With the Packers leaning on the running game and bleeding the clock, I'd lean on this Under at the current 45.5 and if the wind is an issue, it could be an ugly game with a ton of running and even punting in unconventional spots.

Packers vs Seahawks best bet

My best bet: Josh Jacobs Over 72.5 rushing yards (-110 at bet365)

In Weeks 7 to 12, Josh Jacobs averaged 96 rushing yards per game on 18.8 carries and scored seven TDs. Then he played on a short week vs. Miami in Week 13, where he tied for his lowest output of the season with 43 yards on 19 carries, and then played again on Thursday for Thanksgiving, where he went 66 yards on 18 carries and three scores. This will be his first Sunday game game in three weeks and the extra rest is going to help in a game that will likely be decided on the ground.

Jacobs has had two games this year with extra rest — he's gone for 227 rushing yards and 285 total yards in them combined. THE BLITZ is projecting 96 yards for the Green Bay Packers running back who leads the league in missed tackles forced and has 32 over his last three games alone, and that was on short rest.

The potential for serious wind only helps the Green Bay rushing cause that faces the Seattle Seahawks' rush defense that ranks in the bottom half of the league in EPA/rush and success rate on the season. The Green Bay O-line is healthy and this could be the best we see its run game this year with the health and extra rest.

The Seahawks are 5-2 since Week 7's win over the Falcons, but the four teams they've beaten (Arizona twice) are 10-18 SU since Week 7.

Worst case, there is no wind, but a better Green Bay team plays with the lead and relies on a rested Jacobs, or best case, the wind is an issue, and Jacobs gets 20+ carries for the third time in seven games.

Packers vs Seahawks SNF same-game parlay (SGP)

Josh Jacobs 100+ rushing yards

Josh Jacobs 20+ rush attempts

Josh Jacobs anytime touchdown

All the chips are in on Jacobs Sunday night which is the best approach looking at this game midweek. There are questions with the Seattle running game and the weather, but taking Jacobs to hit some milestones is a safe floor with the potential to be even better if the weather predictions turn out severe.

In every game that Jacobs has rushed the ball for 20+ times, he has gone for 100+ yards and a score. He is coming off extra rest after playing in back-to-back Thursday games while the Seahawks haven't allowed a 100-yard rusher since Week 8, but Seattle has not faced a tough stretch of opponents with their five wins since Week 7 coming against opponents who have gone 10-18 SU since.

On the road with a playoff atmosphere likely and possible heavy winds, look for the Green Bay offense to lean on Jacobs heavily Sunday night.

Packers vs Seahawks spread and Over/Under analysis

  • This spread opened at 3 and has bounced around 2.5/3 since last Sunday night.
  • Seattle RB Kenneth Walker is still questionable with a calf injury and missed Week 14. Defensive backs Tre Brown (starter) and Jerrick Reed (depth) also sat out practice this week. Safety K'Von Wallace and CB Artie Burns have been designated to return to practice. Both are depth pieces on the defense.
  • This game has the potential for winds of up to 40 mph (20 mph sustained). The outlook is unclear as not all weather models are in agreeance with the severe wind.
  • The Packers have Romeo Doubs still in concussion protocol. He has missed two straight games but is practicing in full. There are also four starters on the defense who are questionable early in the week.
  • According to our Covers Consensus tool, 62% of users expect the Packers to cover the spread while 59% of users expect the game to go Over 46.5 points.
