Spread Handle flips to favor Eagles
We've seen some interesting bets come in at Caesars since Monday. The Public still has a slight lean towards the Philadelphia Eagles with 52% of the spread bets and 53% of the moneyline tickets backing the Eagles.
However, while 51% of the money on the spread was on the Kansas City Chiefs by Monday, that has since flipped with 56% of the ATS handle now on Philadelphia. It seems like sharps are eager to catch that point with the underdogs in anticipation of a close Super Bowl. While the Eagles are still available at +1 that number is now juiced to -115 after sitting at -110 for most of the week.
Bets | Handle | |
---|---|---|
Spread | 52% of bets on Eagles | 56% of handle on Eagles |
Moneyline | 53% of bets on Eagles | 56 of handle on Chiefs |
Total | 75% of bets on Over | 72% of handle on Over |
Sharps still like Chiefs to Win Outright
Sharp money is still on the Chiefs to win their fourth Super Bowl in six years. 56% of the moneyline handle is currently on the Chiefs even though 53% of the tickets are on the Eagles. It's interesting to see such a massive disparity between the handle bets on the spread and ML given how close this line is to a pick'em.

Sharps come in on the Under
Nobody wants to root for a low-scoring game and money predictably poured in on the Over during the first week of Super Bowl betting. By February 3, 80% of bets and 79% of the handle was on the Over.
That said, books were reluctant to move the total above 49 and we've since seen money come in on the Under. As of Thursday, 72% of the handle is on the Over, a significant decline from Monday. The total at Caesars is still at 49 but we've seen it come down to 48.5 at some books and that shift could happen here as well.
