The New York Rangers seek revenge tonight as they get set to host the Boston Bruins at the Garden.

Both teams have been finding ways to score goals, and my Bruins vs. Rangers predictions expect that trend to continue in this affair.

Find out why in my NHL picks for February 5.

My analysis
Dating back to January 1, David Pastrnak has been the hottest player in the NHL and is single-handedly keeping the Boston Bruins playoff hopes alive.

In that span, Pastrnak has scored 14 goals and tallied 15 assists for a total of 29 points in 16 games. The Bruins have scored 3.13 goals per game, and their power play has clicked at a 23.5% rate.

The next leading scorer on Boston during this stretch is Pavel Zacha, who has 14 points in the 16 games. It just goes to show you how much Pastrnak is carrying the load.

For the New York Rangers, J.T. Miller has stepped in and has put up four points in his first two games with the group, but Artemi Panarin and Mika Zibanejad — who he’s on a line with — have seemed to be thriving as well.

Collectively, the Rangers have been the second-highest scoring team since the new year, scoring 3.38 goals per game, and their man advantage has been buzzing at 30.6%.

As well as Boston has played offensively, it's allowed 3.73 goals against per game over the last 15 outings, which is the second-worst in the NHL over that span.

Jeremy Swayman is 5-6-1 over that stretch while sporting a .910 SV% with a 3.07 GAA. Despite a shutout in his most recent game, Swayman hasn’t necessarily been on top of his game in the second half of the season.

Bruins vs Rangers same-game parlay (SGP)

Over 6.5

David Pastrnak 4+ shots on goal

J.T. Miller 4+ shots on goal

David Pastrnak has been on absolute fire as of late and actually recorded his 18th career hat trick in Saturday’s game against the Rangers. Pastrnak had six shots on goal in that game and is averaging 4.06 per game this season. The Rangers surrender the fourth-most shots against per game; Pastrnak should get his looks.

J.T. Miller has six shots on goal as well in Saturday’s game against the Bruins and has had a shoot-first mentality in his first two games with the Rangers. New York's power play has clicked at 60% in the last two games, and it appears the flow runs through Miller.
