The Vancouver Canucks will look to pick up their second win in as many days when they welcome the Vegas Golden Knights to Rogers Arena tonight.
Pius Suter has stepped up admirably as the team’s No. 1 center with Elias Pettersson sidelined since late March and I’ll be banking on him to find the score sheet once again in my Golden Knights vs. Canucks predictions and NHL picks for Sunday, April 6.

My Canucks analysis
Elias Pettersson went down with an upper body injury two weeks ago, which dished a big hit to the Vancouver Canucks’ playoff hopes this year.
While the Canucks now sit well outside the playoff picture, there's some silver lining in what they’ve seen from Pettersson’s replacement on the top line, Pius Suter.
He found immediate success since sliding into the No. 1 center role, notching eight points over his first four games since taking over for Pettersson. The Swiss native has been held pointless in Vancouver’s last two contests, but I like his chances of getting back on the score sheet tonight.
The Canucks have picked up the pace offensively with 4+ goals in four of their last six games, including a six-goal outburst against the Ducks last night. Suter has logged over 20 minutes of ice time in five of his last seven games so he’s bound to find a way to contribute if the Canucks keep scoring.
Canucks vs Golden Knights odds analysis
The Golden Knights opened as a moderate -150 favorite, though we saw that number move as high as -161 at some books by early Sunday morning.
Vegas is 7-2-0 over its last nine games while Vancouver has won three of its last eight, so I suspect we’ll see the line continue to move in favor of the Golden Knights as money continues to pour in ahead of puck drop.
Tonight’s total opened at 5.5 goals with the Over going 7-2 in Vancouver’s last nine and the Under going 4-0 in Vegas’ last four. The Under has also cashed in their two previous meetings this season, with the Golden Knights skating to 3-1 wins on February 22 and December 19.
Vancouver has generally played lower-scoring games at home, with the Under cashing in 11 of its last 15 contests at Rogers Arena.
