The Seattle Kraken and Vancouver Canucks are getting set for their third meeting of the season. The last two meetings needed extra time, so this should be another great game.

The Kraken are trying to get themselves back into the playoff hunt, while Vancouver is holding onto its wild-card spot by a thread. All of the pressure is on the Canucks; how will they handle it?

Read my Canucks vs. Kraken predictions and NHL picks below to see why I'm favoring the road team.

My Canucks analysis
The Vancouver Canucks and Seattle Kraken have both struggled to put the puck in the back of the net since returning to action. Both teams are in the Bottom 5 of the league in scoring right now as the Canucks are averaging 1.75 goals per game over their last four contests and the Kraken are scoring just 1.67 goals per game over their last three.

The goalie matchup should be Kevin Lankinen for Vancouver against Joey Daccord for the Kraken. Daccord’s numbers have been ugly over this recent stretch of games. He's 1-1-0, but is skating to a .875 save percentage with a 4.01 goals against average.

The Kraken aren’t the strongest group on the backend, surrendering 11.04 high-danger chances against per 60 at 5-on-5, which is 10th most in the NHL, but they need more out of Daccord in the blue paint. Since the return from break, the Kraken have given up 26 shots on goal against per game, which is right around league average.

For Vancouver, Lankinen has been incredibly impressive this season and is looking to keep the momentum rolling after representing Finland at the 4 Nations tournament. He's 1-1-0 in his last two starts while boasting a .933 SV% and a 1.97 GAA. It's clear Vancouver has the edge in goal tonight.

The Kraken do not pose much of a threat offensively, and Lankinen is more than trustworthy in goal. The Canucks need to play with some desperation as teams are closing the gap in the standings.
