The Calgary Flames return home to the Scotiabank Saddledome following a three-game road trip to host the Los Angeles Kings tonight.
Calgary has shown off defensively on home ice this season, and our Kings vs. Flames predictions and top NHL picks expect a low-scoring tilt between the two Pacific Division foes on Monday, November 11.

My Flames pick
Under 6 (-120 at BET99)
My Flames analysis
The Calgary Flames have played to the Under is six of their past seven games, and I’m anticipating a return to the Scotiabank Saddledome being quite welcomed. Calgary has been defensively sound on home ice with the seventh-fewest goals against (1.66) at 5-on-5 and 11th-fewest overall (2.86).
It’s also a solid matchup for the Under, with the Los Angeles Kings allowing the ninth-fewest goals per game (2.88) overall and 10th-fewest at 5-on-5 (2.14). The Kings are also likely better than their numbers suggest, opening the season with a seven-game road trip. After surrendering 17 goals through the first four games of the season, they’ve allowed just 2.5 per over the past 12.
Additionally, neither power-play unit has had a lot of success to start the year. The Flames have a 24th-ranked 15.9 PP%, while the Kings are only slightly better with a 21st-ranked 16.4% mark.
Projected Calgary starting goalie Dustin Wolf has also posted an impressive .924 save percentage and 2.74 GAA at home, and I’m still expecting the best to come from likely L.A. starter Darcy Kuemper.
Kuemper has been solid through five starts since returning from a lower-body injury with a .901 SV% and 2.19 GAA, which includes a 16-save shutout against the Predators in his lone road appearance.
L.A. also drops from 3.67 goals per game at home to 3.2 on the road, and I do expect Calgary head coach Ryan Huska to cash in on the last-change advantage with his preferred on-ice matchups.
Flames vs Kings same-game parlay (SGP)
I’m anticipating the Flames trying to turn this game into a low-event, slow-pace bout. The Kings have scored three or fewer goals in seven of their past 10 games despite sporting the fifth-highest team shooting percentage at 5-on-5 (11.5%) during the stretch. Additionally, L.A. has scored 3.25 goals despite generating just 2.7 per 60 at 5-on-5.
Kings winger Kevin Fiala has turned his 13 attempts into just three shots in the past two games, so I’m expecting the high-volume shooter to have better efficiency tonight. Calgary is allowing the eighth-most shots per game (30.7) and ninth-most per game to opposing wingers (11.43), and Fiala paces the Kings in both shots and attempts per 60 minutes overall and with the man advantage.
