Jets vs Kraken Prediction, Picks & Odds for Tonight’s NHL Game

As the Seattle Kraken pay a visit to the Winnipeg Jets, they will have a tall task in trying to overcome one of the NHL's hottest teams. Despite getting back on the winning track as of late, Seattle may not have enough to keep up with Winnipeg.

The Winnipeg Jets will look to keep rolling as they host the Seattle Kraken on Thursday night at Canada Life Centre.

The Jets have points in four straight games with the lone overtime loss coming against the Kings. Since then, they shut out the Avalanche 3-0 and blew out the Canucks 6-1.

The Kraken have bounced back from a four-game losing streak with two wins in their last three games, but they’ll have their hands full in Winnipeg on Thursday night.

Our top Kraken vs. Jets predictions and NHL picks are expecting Winnipeg to keep flying high in the best picks for Thursday, January 16.

Jets -1.5 (+125 at Pinnacle)

My Jets analysis

The Winnipeg Jets have outscored the Canucks and Avalanche 9-1 in their last two games and also beat the Predators 5-2 last week. Now they get the lowly Seattle Kraken coming to town at the end of their road trip.

The numbers speak for themselves for the Jets: They’re 17-4-3 at home and have the second-best expected goals for share (57.58% at 5-on-5 per Natural Stat Trick) over the last 10 games. On the flip side, the Kraken have the fourth-lowest mark in that span at 42.85% and are 10-13 on the road.

The Jets are huge favorites on the moneyline at -206 but we’re getting some good plus odds on the puck line. Of the Jets’ 30 wins this season, 23 of them have been by at least two goals. That includes each of their last seven victories. Furthermore, 14 of their 17 home wins have come by margin.

The Kraken are also susceptible to blowout losses. Seattle has 26 losses on the season and 18 of them have been by at least two goals, including 11 of 13 on the road.

Take the Jets to win by margin again here at a nice +125 price rather than eating the juice of -206.

Jets vs Kraken odds analysis

The Jets opened at around -225 at most books but are now down to -206 at Pinnacle. That could move back up if Connor Hellebuyck is confirmed as the starter for the Jets. Hellebuyck is the runaway favorite for the Vezina Trophy and has entered the Hart Trophy conversation as well.

The total is set at 5.5 with the Under 5.5 slightly favored at -115. That’s not too surprising given the Kraken’s lack of offensive talent and Hellebuyck likely in net for the Jets.
