Maple Leafs vs Bruins Predictions, Picks, and Odds for Tonight’s NHL Playoff Game

With Auston Matthews out again, William Nylander's impact will be even more crucial for the Maple Leafs against the Bruins in Game 7, and our NHL picks see no reason to doubt him.

Latest NHL Picks

We’ve got just one game on the NHL betting slate tonight, and it’s a Game 7 between the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins.

It’s been a very tight series, and goals have been hard to come by, which is why I’m looking at the NHL odds for shot markets in our Maple Leafs vs. Bruins predictions.

Find out which sniper I'm backing tonight in my free NHL picks for this May 4 matchup, and don't miss Josh Inglis' Maple Leafs vs. Bruins prop picks.

Maple Leafs vs Bruins prediction

My best bet
William Nylander O 3.5 shots (-120 at SIA).

My analysis
The Toronto Maple Leafs have rallied from a 3-1 series deficit to force a Game 7 against the Boston Bruins in Beantown.

Goal-scoring has been few and far between in this series, which is why I’ve decided to take a look at the shot prop market for my best bet, and the player with the best odds and Over/Under total tonight is once again William Nylander.

The Swedish sniper’s shot total is set at 3.5 tonight, and it’s a number he’s cleared in back-to-back games and has gone Over the total in five of his last seven outings, averaging 4.14 shots per game over that stretch.

Nylander found the back of the net for the first time since March 26 in Game 6 and looks to have his swagger back. This is a good sign for the Leafs and his backers, as a confident Willy shoots the puck at a much higher rate.

Plus, the game is being played in Boston. Typically, this isn’t a good thing to be on the road, but the Leafs have played betting away from home ice this season, and that’s continued into the playoffs, where the Buds have averaged 34.3 shots per game compared to just 27 shots a night at home.

Additionally, it sounds like Auston Matthews will be out once again for Game 7, which should put more emphasis on Nylander to be a primary driver of offense for the Maple Leafs at 5-on-5 and on the power play, which should give him more opportunities to put pucks on net.

Maple Leafs vs Bruins same-game parlay (SGP)

William Nylander anytime goal

Under 6.5

Leafs puck line +1.5

For leg one of my same-game parlay, let’s mirror my Nylander shots prop with an anytime goal. He finally hit the score sheet in his last game, and typically they come in bunches after a long drought.

Next up, let's take the alternate Under of 6.5 goals. Each game has gone Under this total this year, with an average of 4.5 goals per game in this series.

For my final leg, let’s take the Leafs on the puckline at +1.5. These games have been tight and low-scoring, with the last three of the last five being decided by one goal. Would anyone be surprised if we see overtime again here? If so, the bet chases whether the Leafs win or lose.

Maple Leafs vs Bruins opening odds

  • Puck line: Toronto +1.5 (-225) | Boston -1.5 (+175)
  • Moneyline: Toronto +115 | Boston -135
  • Over/Under: Over 5.5 (+105) | Under 5.5 (-125)

Maple Leafs vs Bruins moneyline and Over/Under analysis

  • The Toronto Maple Leafs enter tonight’s game as the underdog, getting +115 odds on the moneyline, while the Bruins are favored at home at -135.

  • This game is far too much of a coin flip to bet the moneyline tonight, hence why my best bet was a puckline play at Leafs +1.5.

  • The total for tonight’s game is set at 5.5 goals, with the Under favored at -135, while the Over is paying even-money (+100).

  • The Under has hit in three straight games and is 4-1-1 overall in the series, with an average of 4.5 goals per game. I’m expecting another low-scoring one tonight. Take the Under again.
