The Edmonton Oilers are heating up and head to Sin City with a three-game winning streak to take on the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena on Tuesday, December 3.
Edmonton is set to keep the good times rolling with Vegas a vulnerable opponent, and our Oilers vs. Golden Knights predictions expect the visitors to cash out a victory tonight.
Let's break down the matchup with my NHL picks before the puck drops at 10 p.m. ET on Sportsnet 1.

My Oilers analysis
Things are looking up for the Edmonton Oilers.
Edmonton has won seven of 10 while averaging a healthy 3.9 goals per game and improving on special. With a 12th-ranked 22.2 power-play percentage and top-ranked 91.7 penalty-kill percentage during the heater, the Oilers have also had much better puck luck.
The 6-7-1 start was largely the result of an unsustainably low 5.82 team shooting percentage at 5-on-5 paired with a 26th-ranked 14.3 PP% and league-low 59.5 PK%.
Oil No. 1 goalie Stuart Skinner has also gone 5-1-1 during the stretch, and while his .890 save percentage and 2.86 GAA are still incredibly shaky, he’s also allowed two goals or fewer in three of his past four starts.
Skinner’s best is still ahead, and he did post a respectable .909 SV% and 2.658 GAA across 109 games through his first two full seasons in the league.
I’m also unimpressed by the Vegas Golden Knights. They sport a 26th-ranked 46.7 Corsi For percentage and 47.5 expected goals percentage at 5-on-5 and have leaned on the third-highest team shooting percentage (10.5%), which is set for a statistical correction.
Edmonton can win the special-teams battle tonight, too.
The improved Oilers penalty kill is a good match for Vegas’ fifth-ranked 27.4 PP%, while the Golden Knights sport a vulnerable 21st-ranked 78.2 PK%.
Oilers vs Golden Knights same-game parlay (SGP)
Oilers forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins has been shooting more the past three games with frequent linemate Zach Hyman (undisclosed) sidelined. RNH has piled up 11 shots and 19 attempts over the past three games, and I value him playing alongside superstar Connor McDavid and Kasperi Kapanen at 5-on-5 because the two speedsters can create open space for him to find soft shooting spots.
Of course, Kapanen also isn’t a high-volume shooter (1.0 shots per game this season), and Nugent-Hopkins is a staple on the No. 1 power-play unit.
The final leg of this same-game parlay is a nice multiplier, and Vegas forward Tomas Hertl has two or more shots in 11 consecutive games with an average of 3.45. He’s also logging big consistent minutes skating in a top-six role and with the No. 1 power-play unit (17:13 with 3:04 on the PP).
