Saturday’s NHL nightcap features a Pacific Division tilt between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings. NHL odds have Edmonton as a slight –125 favorite, while the total sits at either six or 6.5 across the board.

The Oilers have dominated this matchup over the past couple of seasons, winning each of the past four meetings and seven of the past nine. Four of those seven wins have also come by at least a two-goal margin.

Will this trend continue, or can Los Angeles defend its home ice? Find out in my free NHL picks for Oilers vs. Kings on February 10.

Oilers vs Kings predictions

We cashed the Edmonton Oilers puck line in last night’s game against Anaheim, and we are going right back to the well on Saturday evening. The Los Angeles Kings are still a team in a free fall, having lost 14 of their last 17 contests.

The offense is extremely cold, averaging just 2.2 goals scored per game over that stretch. On the campaign, the team now ranks in the bottom half of the league in goals scored per game, power play percentage, and shooting percentage.

Meanwhile, things are trending in the opposite for the Oilers, who have now won 17 of their past 18 games, with 12 of those 17 wins coming by at least a two-goal differential. Over that span, Edmonton is averaging 3.8 goals scored per game.

Subsequently, they rank much higher than the Kings in goals scored per game, power play percentage, and shooting percentage. Not only are the Oilers scoring at a high clip, but they have gotten tremendous goaltending out of Stuart Skinner, who will start between the pipes on Saturday evening.

Skinner has allowed two or fewer goals in each of his past 12 starts. Over that stretch, he is 11-1 with a commanding .952 SV% and 1.33 GAA, and eight of those 11 wins were multi-goal victories.

This success is likely to continue against Los Angeles, a team that Skinner is 6-2 against over his past nine starts.

My best bet: Oilers -1.5 (+185 at SIA)

Oilers vs Kings same-game parlay

Oilers -1.5

Under 6.5

Despite picking Edmonton to win by a multi-goal margin, I still think this game will stay Under the total. Skinner’s excellence between the pipes has been well documented, allowing two or fewer goals in each of his past 12 starts.

On the other hand, goaltender David Rittich is slated to start between the pipes for Los Angeles and has been tremendous in his own right. While I don’t think Rittich is as good as he’s played in a small sample size, we still can’t glance over the fact that he boasts a .925 SV% and 2.09 GAA through 11 appearances this season.

Meanwhile, the Under has been the bet to make in Oilers’ games recently, cashing in 11 of their past 12. The same rings true for Los Angeles, with six or fewer total goals scored in five of its past eight games.

Oilers vs Kings moneyline and Over/Under analysis

The Oilers opened as slight –115 favorites and have since been bet up to their current price of -125. Meanwhile, the total opened at either six or 6.5, depending on the book.

Currently, the market has generally been pushing this number down since opening, likely due to the recent Under trends and the strong goaltending between Skinner and Rittich. If you like the Under, I would recommend attacking 6.5 sooner rather than later, as I wouldn’t be shocked if that number is off the board by puck drop.

Oilers vs Kings betting trend to know

The Kings have hit the game total Under in 45 of their last 83 games (+6.80 Units / 8% ROI). Find more NHL betting trends for Oilers vs. Kings.
