The Boston Bruins have rebounded nicely following a dud of a season opener, picking up back-to-back wins over the Canadiens and Kings.
They’ll attempt to extend their winning streak to three games Monday afternoon against a division rival. My Panthers vs. Bruins predictions see David Pastrnak and the Bruins getting revenge on Florida after an ugly loss in their first meeting of the season.

My best bet
David Pastrnak Over 3.5 shots (-145 at bet365)
My analysis
David Pastrnak led the entire NHL in shot attempts a season ago, and he has picked up where he left off in the early going. He’s piled up 13 shots on 23 attempts through three games, clearing his line in two of three.
He failed to get the job done against the Kings, but they are a strong shot-suppression team that plays low-event hockey. The Florida Panthers — while a much better team — still provide a better shooting matchup for Pastrnak.
Kings games this season have featured an average of 115 total shot attempts (for + against) per 60 minutes. The Panthers come in around 125, ranking much higher in terms of playing eventful hockey.
There are a couple more things going for Pastrnak in this spot. The Panthers will be without two-way stud Aleksander Barkov while Matthew Tkachuk is banged up as well. Those injuries drastically impact Florida’s team defense and ability to control the run of play, meaning the Bruins should spend more time on the front foot.
Discipline remains a concern for the Panthers as well. They averaged 6:03 of shorthanded time per game a season ago, which was more than all but the Ducks. It’s early, but Florida sits at 6:04 per game thus far.
If the Cats give Boston a few opportunities on the power play, it’s going to raise the shooting floor and ceiling for Pastrnak.

Bruins moneyline
Pastrnak has four points through three games and has found the scoresheet at least once each time out. This is a good matchup for him to pile up the shots, and that generally leads to success, either from Pastrnak scoring himself or his shooting, creating rebound opportunities for others to pounce on.
Pastrnak has at least one point in eight of his last 10 home games. Zooming out further, he’s hit the scoresheet in 15 of the past 20 and 23 of the past 30 when playing in Boston. He's dynamite — especially when Jim Montgomery can get him on the ice in more favorable matchups.
I like the correlation that comes with Boston winning while getting a big night from Pastrnak. Factor in the injuries to Barkov and Tkachuk, and the stars are aligning for the Bruins to get a little taste of revenge on a Panthers team that’s given them problems over the past couple of seasons.
