With a strong four-game slate of playoff hockey throughout Sunday, there’s an abundance of NHL odds to choose from.
I’ve compiled my best two parlays for today’s action. As always, make sure you shop around and look for the best prices, as these are rapidly changing markets that see a lot of action prior to puck drop.
Here are my free NHL picks for Sunday, April 28, along with a same-game parlay for all four matchups.
NHL playoffs parlay picks April 28
- Avalanche ML + Nichushkin anytime goal + VAN/NSH Under 5.5 (+557 at FanDuel)
- NYR/WSH Under 5.5 + EDM/LAK Over 6.5 + Draisaitl anytime goal (+630 at FanDuel)
Best NHL parlay picks for Sunday
NHL parlay pick 1
Kicking off Sunday’s NHL slate is Game 4 between the Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche. Colorado has turned this series on its head with back-to-back victories, and I believe this trend will continue in Game 4 as Winnipeg goaltender Connor Hellebuyck does not seem to have an answer for the Avs’ powerhouse offense.
The Avalanche have scored five or more goals in each of the first three games, and Hellebuyck now possesses a fade-worthy .871 SV% and 5.05 GAA in the series. Valeri Nichushkin has scored in each of the first three games of this series, and we should expect him to find similar success in Game 4.
Nichushkin is a power play specialist who saw 57% of his goal production in the regular season come on the man-advantage. That is worth noting because Winnipeg finished the campaign ranked 21st in the league in penalty kill percentage and currently ranks 13th among the 16 playoff teams this postseason in PK percentage.
The other early-window contest features Game 4 between the Nashville Predators and Vancouver Canucks. There was a lot of concern in Vancouver following the injury to goaltender Thatcher Demko and his replacement’s, Casey DeSmith, poor performance in Game 2.
However, DeSmith responded in a big way in Game 3 with a brilliant performance that saw him stop 29 of 30 pucks for a commanding .967 SV%. On the other hand, I fully trust Nashville goaltender Juuse Saros to also keep this game low-scoring.
NHL parlay pick 2
The Washington Capitals kick off the late window on Sunday in Game 4 against the New York Rangers. Both goaltenders have done a tremendous job supporting these two teams this season, and there is no reason to expect anything different on Sunday.
Igor Shesterkin has allowed two or fewer goals in four of his past five starts, posting a dominating 5-0 record with a .949 SV% and 1.38 GAA over that stretch. On the other hand, Charlie Lindgren boasts a .917 SV% and 2.29 GAA over his past eight outings.
Meanwhile, we're likely to get a completely different style of game in Sunday’s NHL nightcap as the Los Angeles Kings host the Edmonton Oilers. Edmonton’s powerhouse offense doesn’t need any introduction, but this group is generating high danger scoring chances at a high clip.
Among the 16 playoff teams this postseason, the Oilers rank first in expected goals for per 60 minutes (xGF/60). While Los Angeles’ offense is obviously not that of Edmonton’s, it can hold its own.
The Kings are averaging 3.33 goals scored per game this postseason and are more than capable of beating an, with all due respect, average netminder in Stuart Skinner. Since I'm backing a high-scoring affair, I like Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl to aid in that process.
Draisaitl has torched Los Angeles over the past couple of seasons, scoring 12 goals over the past 14 meetings. Meanwhile, goaltender Cam Talbot is certainly not playing his best hockey, surrendering three or more goals in nine of his past 11 starts dating back to the regular season.
Over that stretch, Talbot possesses a .879 SV% and 3.60 GAA.

Today's NHL same-game parlay picks
Our betting experts have scoured through today's NHL odds to find your best SGP bets for each of the three games on Saturday's playoff slate:
Jets vs Avalanche same-game parlay (SGP)
There is no better candidate to find the back of the net than forward Valeri Nichushkin, who has scored in each of the first three games of this series.
Nichushkin is a power play specialist who saw 57% of his goal production in the regular season come on the man-advantage. Winnipeg finished the campaign ranked 21st in the league in penalty kill percentage and remains highly vulnerable on special teams.

Canucks vs Predators same-game parlay (SGP)
While Vancouver has won two straight games at Bridgestone overall, the Predators played well enough to win at home in Game 3. In fact, the Canucks’ win was only Nashville’s second home loss in regulation in its last 12 games, with a 9-1-2 record over that span.
The Preds haven't lost back-to-back games at home since Feb 13 & 15, so they’re well equipped to bounce back.
Despite being held off the scoresheet for just the fourth time in his last 20 games, Filip Forsberg was still among the most productive generators of offense for the Predators. His four shots on goal tied for the team with Luke Evangelista (Nashville's lone Game 3 goal scorer) and Ryan O’Reilly.
Forsberg — who was sixth in goal scoring this year with 48 — has only been held goalless in back-to-back games once over his last 20 games.
If Nashville is to even this series, Forsberg getting involved should be a good bet.

Rangers vs Capitals same-game parlay (SGP)
Zibanejad skates on the first line and top power-play unit alongside winger Chris Kreider. The two connected on a goal in both Games 1 and 3 and could easily do so again in Game 4.
We’re also taking the Rangers to cover the puck line on Sunday. Even without playing at its true potential, New York has been far and away the better team and continues to be lethal on the power play (3-for-12 so far on the PP).

Oilers vs Kings same-game parlay (SGP)
I’ll lean heavily on the Oilers offense for my same-game parlay as I look for Zach Hyman to lift them to another performance with 5+ goals. Edmonton has scored 6+ goals in two of the three games so far while averaging 5.67 gpg in the series.
With the Oilers scoring in bunches, these clubs should have no problem combining for Over 6.5 goals — a total they’ve reached in all three meetings so far.
