The NHL is taking it outside on Saturday evening with the Columbus Blue Jackets facing off against the Detroit Red Wings at Ohio Stadium. It’ll be one of the most attended games in NHL history with over 90,000 fans expected at The Horseshoe.

Outdoor games are always fun and there are a few different angles worth taking a look at in this matchup. These teams skated to a 5-2 Blue Jackets win on Thursday night in Detroit.

Read on for my best 2025 Stadium Series player prop NHL picks for Red Wings. Blue Jackets on Saturday, March 1.

Best Red Wings vs Blue Jackets props

Red Wings vs Blue Jackets player props for March 1

Alex DeBrincat Over 0.5 Points (-165 at BetMGM)

Alex DeBrincat opened the scoring in the Detroit Red Wings’ 5-2 loss to Columbus just a few nights ago to extend his point streak to eight games. That’s tied with Red Wings legend Pavel Datsyuk way back in the 2008-09 season for the longest point streak entering an outdoor game.

DeBrincat is now up to 51 points (27 goals, 24 assists) on the season with 12 points (6 goals, 6 assists) during his eight-game point streak.

He’s been a point-per-game player for a while now, though, with 26 points (14 goals, 12 assists) in 24 games since December 29th, including a three-point game in Columbus on January 2nd.

The diminutive winger is putting up big numbers for the Red Wings while skating on the second line with J.T. Compher and Patrick Kane. He’s also a part of the top power-play unit where the Red Wings have thrived this season to the tune of a 29.3% success rate (second in the NHL).

These teams have gone Over the total in eight of their last 10 matchups and there are bound to be goals on Saturday night. DeBrincat should be in on the action at this -165 price.

Adam Fantilli Over 0.5 Points (-135 at BetMGM)

Adam Fantilli fell to the Columbus Blue Jackets with the third pick in the 2023 NHL Draft and they’re glad he did. The University of Michigan product should be amped up for this matchup at Ohio Stadium.

A look at Fantilli’s stat line for the season (36 points in 59 games) isn’t all that impressive, but the center has been picking it up in the second half of the season. After recording just 15 points in his first 38 games, Fantilli has 21 points (10 goals, 11 assists) in as many games this calendar year.

In fact, Fantilli has been held off the scoresheet just five times in his last 21 games (76% hit rate). He’s riding a four-game point streak and started this 21-game stretch with an assist against these Red Wings.

Fantilli plays on the top line and top power-play unit for Columbus. Take advantage of this -135 price (57.45% implied probability) for Fantilli to stay hot.

Boone Jenner 1+ Assist (+220 at BetMGM)

Boone Jenner may not be the most talented captain in the league but the hard-nosed forward is a good one for the Columbus Blue Jackets.

After missing the first 56 games of the season due to a shoulder injury, the captain has been on fire in his short stint with the team. He has five points (all assists) in three games, including a three-assist night on seven shots in Detroit on Thursday.

It’s hard for a player to ramp up to 100% after missing the first four-plus months of the season but Jenner is making it look easy. He’s playing on the second line and power-play unit for Columbus.

Look for Jenner to keep piling up the apples at this appetizing +220 price.
