There are three games on the ice Friday, April 25, and my trio of NHL player props has you covered for all the action.
The Montreal Canadiens are down 0-2 and host the Washington Capitals to start the night, with the New Jersey Devils also looking to crawl back into their series with their first win against the Carolina Hurricanes.
It’s more of the same in the nightcap, as the Los Angeles Kings take a 2-0 series lead into Rogers Place to face the Edmonton Oilers.

Best NHL player prop bets for April 25
Sam Montembeault Over 24.5 saves (-125 at Sports Interaction)
After stopping 29 shots in consecutive games, I’m surprised Montreal Canadiens No. 1 Sam Montembeault is trading at a 24.5 saves total for Game 3. Not only has he posted an excellent .921 save percentage with 2.12 goals saved above expected, the Canadiens' allowing shots in bunches dates back to the regular season.
Montreal finished the regular season with a 28th-ranked 47.5 Corsi For percentage and five-on-five, and the Habs allowed the ninth-most shots per game (29).
On the opposite bench, the Washington Capitals ranked eighth with a 50.8 CF% at 5-on-5 on the road during the regular season, and I’m expecting them to push the pace again tonight.
Additionally, the Caps have sat on a lead in consecutive games with a 41.1 CF% in the third period to start the series. I’m also expecting Washington to tidy that up tonight, which should also result in a few more late shooting opportunities for the Caps.
Jacob Markstrom Over 25.5 saves (-133 at Sports Interaction)
While New Jersey Devils starter Jacob Markstrom made 25 saves in Game 2 to go Under his 26.5 saves total, I'm going right back to the well with the veteran goalie.
The Carolina Hurricanes started slow in Game 2 with just six shots on 19 attempts in the first period before turning it on for 22 shots on 50 attempts over the final two frames. Carolina also dominated five-on-five possession with a 61.4 Corsi For percentage and 65.8% shot share.
Additionally, while the shift to home ice should help the Devils, it’s overpriced in this prop. The Hurricanes paced the NHL with 33.0 shots per game and a 59.n CF% at 5-on-5 during the regular season, after all.
Plus, Markstrom’s been up to the task with an elite .930 save percentage and 4.12 goals saved above expected through the first two games of the series.
Alex Laferriere Over 1.5 shots on goal (-180 at Sports Interaction)
Los Angeles Kings winger Alex Laferriere has registered just three shots through the first two games of the Round 1 series against the Edmonton Oilers, but he’s also tied for third on the Kings with 11 attempts.
Laferriere converted 64.3% of his attempts into shots during the regular season, so I’m anticipating him improving on his 27.3% postseason rate in Game 3 tonight. After all, his 20.33 attempts per 60 minutes are even higher than his regular-season mark of 18.1.
The volume and opportunities are there.
Additionally, while there is high vig attached to this prop, my numbers still show a healthy 15% expected value based on a projection of 2.71 shots for Laferriere in Game 3.
