Assists have been McDavid’s bread and butter all year long, co-leading the league with 100 apples during the regular season and sitting with 29 in the playoffs. In fact, he’s just one shy of becoming the second player in NHL history to post 30 assists in a playoff year, following Wayne Gretzky (31 in 1988 & 30 in 1985).
The Oilers' star has notched multiple assists in three of his last six outings and in eight of his 21 games this postseason, and there's no better time than an elimination game for the No. 97 to have a big night.
