The 2024 election might be over, but that won’t stop sportsbooks from offering odds on the next presidential election and the open field for both parties.

Donald Trump is ineligible to run for a third term and the Democratic Party is in disarray after their poor showing earlier this week. There will be a presidential primary for both parties that will certainly bring a cast of characters jockeying for the nomination.

Betting on U.S. elections isn't legal in America, but one sportsbook in Canada is offering 2028 U.S. election odds, and if you think celebrity bona fides are an asset, then there is value to be had, although your bet will be pending for years.

Standing out among the celebrity names is Taylor Swift. There has never been a shortage of betting markets for topics relating to the world's biggest pop star.

There are betting odds on 2025 Grammy nominations, which celebrity guests will appear during her Eras Tour, and thanks to her relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, there were numerous prop bets on her appearances at the Super Bowl.

But President of the United States? Yep, there are now odds on whether she'll win the election in four years' time.

Candidate Odds to win 2028 US election at bet365
J.D. Vance +250
Gavin Newsom +650
Ron DeSantis +1600
Michelle Obama +1000
Josh Shapiro +900
Gretchen Whitmer +1600
Tucker Carlson +2000
Pete Buttigieg +1600
Vivek Ramaswamy +1600
Tulsi Gabbard +2000
Taylor Swift +12,500

Values high for non-political nominees

Vice President-elect J.D. Vance is the current favorite at +250, but this week's election shows that it's tough for a sitting VP to win the presidency. Only John Adams, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Van Buren and George H.W. Bush were able to stay in the White House immediately after their vice-presidential term.

Oprah Winfrey is the first celebrity on the odds board at +5,000 and sits 30 spots below the front-runner. The first Republican, who is not in the political space, is Joe Rogan who is near the bottom of the list at +10,000. Swift is also an option at +12,500.

The songstress doesn't often wade into the political waters. But she did endorse Kamala Harris in the lead up to Tuesday's election.

Swift's +12,500 odds carry with it an implied probability of happening of 0.79%. Those willing to place a wager on this long shot will have to wait much longer than a Fortnight for the result.
