Debate Night in America looks to have gone well for the blue team.

After former president Donald Trump recently pulled ahead at regulated sports betting sites in Ontario, where election wagering is legal, Vice President Kamala Harris has regained the lead in the eyes of bookmakers.

Following Tuesday’s debate — chock-full of meme-able moments and quips between the two contenders — US election odds suggest the Democrat Harris has an edge over the Republican Trump in the race to win the White House.

At bet365 in Ontario, Harris was a -125 favorite to win the presidency as of Wednesday morning, while Trump was an even-money underdog. On Monday, Trump was a -138 favorite to triumph in November and Harris a +110 underdog at the U.K.-based sportsbook.

It was a similar story at BetMGM, where Harris was a -120 favorite to win the election as of Wednesday morning, a significant shortening as the veep's odds were +110 earlier in the week. Trump had been a -137 favorite on Monday, but was even money as of Wednesday morning.

There was a flip on the oddsboard at Pinnacle as well. Early Wednesday, Trump was a +102 underdog and Harris a -128 favorite at the sharp-friendly sportsbook; earlier in the week it was the opposite, with Trump the -133 favorite and the “field” priced at +110.

Swifties, Assemble!

Harris, a former prosecutor and California senator, was expected to do well in the debate, and the odds suggest that was indeed the case. At bwin, for example, Harris was a -250 favorite to win the debate, an outcome that was to be determined by public polling following the event.

Still, election odds have bounced around after a historically wild summer of events, such as the attempt on Trump’s life. The debate was also a key opportunity for both candidates to win over any undecided voters, and the clips and recaps of the dust-up could influence hearts and minds in the weeks to come.

One voter who has been won over by Harris is pop star Taylor Swift, who endorsed the vice president on Instagram after the debate ended.

Swift, who is dating Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce (obligatory sports reference), has 283 million followers on the social media platform and millions of fans worldwide.

“I’ve done my research, and I’ve made my choice,” Swift’s post read. “Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make.”
