Everton vs Crystal Palace Predictions and Picks: Unrest at the Palace

It's a classic 'six-pointer' on Monday when Everton host Crystal Palace. A win by Everton would get them out of the relegation zone while a win by Palace would do wonders for their survival. Which team has the goods to pull it off? Find out in our Everton vs. Crystal Palace picks below!

Everton is set to host Crystal Palace at Goodison Park and this should be a real scrap with both Everton and Crystal Palace in desperate need of points. Everton enter the game week in the relegation zone, while Crystal Palace are just five points clear with their manager’s future in doubt.

Everton vs Crystal Palace best odds

EPL predictions for Everton vs Crystal Palace

Monday sees the final Premier League game of this matchweek with Everton vs Crystal Palace at Goodison Park. At the time of writing, there are some unknowns around exactly who will be in the dugout coaching Crystal Palace. It was expected that Roy Hodgson would be sacked as manager and replaced with the Austrian, Oliver Glasner, however, nothing has been announced since the news that Hodgson had fallen ill. There’s likely to be some clarity before the game kicks off but for now, we’re unsure exactly who’ll be coaching the team.

Both teams are in danger and need to start picking up points soon. Everton entered this matchweek in the relegation zone, thanks largely to the points deduction that they were given. However, despite starting the season very well, the fact they haven’t won in seven Premier League games is now becoming a real concern. Then you have Palace who are five points above Everton but have been on a dismal run.

So what is our best bet for Everton vs Crystal Palace? We’re taking Everton to win and both teams not to score, meaning that Sean Dyche’s team will win with a clean sheet. You can get odds of +147 on this, making it a very appealing bet.

The questions around the Palace dugout shouldn’t have an impact here. Regardless of whether there’s a potential for a new manager bounce, or the players trying even harder to get the points for Hodgson, the reality is that injuries are going to be more of a factor. Palace are without Marc Guehi, their best defender, and will be missing Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise from the midfield. These are arguably the team’s best three players and not having them available for selection will be a serious issue, regardless of anything else.

Palace comes into this on the back of four away defeats in a row and worryingly they’ve given up two or more goals in each of their last four Premier League games, and on both occasions the clubs met in the FA Cup and subsequent replay last month, Palace were unable to score.

While Everton haven’t been picking up the results that they needed, they have still had some solid moments and in their last home game, they managed a point against a good Tottenham team. They have four clean sheets in their past seven games across all competitions and BTTS No has landed in 66.7% of their games this season.

With Everton defensively strong and Dyche desperate to pick up points, we’re going to see a cautious performance from his team. However, they should have enough to score against Palace and repel the London team who are without their best players.

My best bet: Everton moneyline + both teams to score — No (+147 at TonyBet)

Everton vs Crystal Palace same-game parlay

Both teams to score — No

Everton Over 1 goal

Dominic Calvert-Lewin Over 1.5 shots

In addition to our first leg of Both Teams to Score No, we’ll also be adding Over 1.0 goals for Everton. We’ve seen Palace concede two or more goals in each of their past four games and while Everton haven’t been the best attacking team in the Premier League this year, they should be able to score a couple against a Palace side missing Marc Guehi.

Then to wrap up our Same-Game Parlay we’re going to back Dominic Calvert-Lewin to have Over 1.5 shots. The 26-year-old striker hasn’t had his most prolific season this year, notching just three goals in the Premier League but he’s still integral to how Dyche wants the team to play. He’s started 17 of the 20 games he’s played and has had an average of 2.3 shots per game. Given the injury woes at Palace, as well as the boost of playing at home, we should see two or more shots from Calvert-Lewin.

Everton vs Crystal Palace side and Over/Under analysis

My best bet involves Everton winning and if you want to back the Merseysiders on the moneyline you can get them at -143. There’s more value to be had by adding them to get a clean sheet but if you want to be cautious you can stick with the moneyline only. The draw is available at +280 and the away win at a big +440.

Despite having seen Over 2.5 goals in each of Palace’s last six Premier League games the bookies are expecting a lower-scoring game with Under 2.5 goals being the favorite, at odds of -137 and the Over coming in at +117. It’s unlikely we see Palace score and you can’t imagine Everton banging in a lot of goals either, making 2-0 the most likely result but a 1-0 win wouldn’t be a shock either. I’d take Under at those odds.
