Luton Town vs West Ham picks and predictions
There’s not much that beats a Premier League game under the floodlights and this Friday we are in for a real treat with Luton vs. West Ham, which has a lot of narratives to consider before deciding our best bet.
Firstly, we need to talk about the hosts. Luton reached the Premier League last season after beating Coventry in the Playoff Final. It was a huge achievement for the club, one which has really punched above its level, especially compared with some of the finances involved at clubs in the Premier League.
The season hasn’t gone as hoped so far, with two defeats in their two games, scoring just once and allowing seven goals. They’ve played just two games, with both of those on the road because their home ground wasn’t ready in terms of meeting Premier League regulations, for the start of the season. They’ve been outclassed in both games so far but it’s worth considering that there’s no shame in losing to either Brighton or Chelsea who are both likely to finish in the top half of the Premier League table this year. Now they play their first game at Kenilworth Road, a real fortress and a stadium capable of creating the sort of unpleasant, hostile atmosphere that is rarely seen in the Premier League days.
West Ham come into this game second in the Premier League table after an incredible start to the season. They’ve picked up seven points in two games and have already beaten Brighton and West Ham, while also picking up a draw at Bournemouth. I’m confident that they’ll get another three points here which is why West Ham to win is my best for the Luton Town vs. West Ham.
Many, myself included, expected West Ham to drop off this season. After all, they won the Europa Conference League last year before losing Declan Rice, their talismanic midfielder. It would be perfectly understandable if they were to regress, and they still might, but the first three games have been very impressive.
While they’ve lost a huge talent in Declan Rice they’ve arguably used the money from his transfer to become a better team. Edson Alvarez and James Ward-Prowse are both instant first-team players and hugely improved the midfield. Konstantinos Mavropanos hasn’t yet played but he’ll be a defensive improvement for the club, amid talks that they are again trying to sign Harry Maguire. The best signing of all is Mohammed Kudus, who arrived from Ajax. The Ghanaian is a serious talent and I’m expecting him to hit the ground running. It’s unlikely he starts this but he will almost certainly come on for his debut and he might make an impact immediately.
Luton’s performances will pick up and their unique stadium will give them an element of advantage at home but the gap in quality of both starting lineups is vast and it’s really hard to see Luton Town being able to keep up with everything that West Ham can throw at them.
Trust David Moyes and his West Ham team to get the job done here and pull off a win over struggling Luton.

Luton Town vs West Ham same-game parlay
We have a tasty +1200 Same-Game Parlay for Luton Town vs West Ham, so let’s get stuck straight into it.
As usual, we’ll be going with our best bet to start the wager off, so it’s West Ham to win. As mentioned above I’m confident that David Moyes’ men are just better in all areas of the pitch and should be able to use that superiority to get three points.
Then we’re going to be betting Under three goals. Despite West Ham being the better team there is no doubt that Kenilworth Road is going to be a tough place to go. It’s a small, compact stadium, with an unpleasant away end and with this being their first-ever Premier League game, we can be certain of an incredible atmosphere. That will give Luton Town a help in keeping West Ham at bay but I don’t think it’ll be enough for them to get anything from the game.
Finally, we’ll be backing Marvelous Nakamba to get booked. The Luton midfield has committed three fouls so far this season and picked up a yellow card. Now he faces a tough test against a very good West Ham midfield. That challenge, as well as a roaring home crowd, should lead him towards getting booked.

Luton Town vs West Ham side and Over/Under analysis
West Ham to win is my best bet of the game and I think it offers value even at -125. It’ll be interesting to see how the Kenilworth Road atmosphere impacts Luton’s performance but it’s really hard to see them get anything from this game given the performances we’ve seen from West Ham in recent weeks. You can get +290 on the tie and a big +375 if you think Luton can pull off the home win.
It seems like a pick’em in terms of Total Goals with Over 2.5 at -106 and Under 2.5 goals at -110. Given that West Ham have scored seven so far this season and Luton have conceded seven in two games, you’d think that Over was the way to go, but I feel bullish on the Under.
This is a tough stadium to play in and given that this is their first Premier League game and it’s under the floodlights on a Friday night, I’m expecting a serious atmosphere and that’s one which I think will cause problems for West Ham to start with, and could create a low scoring game.
