Man City vs Man United FA Cup props
Prop bet #1: King of Spain
When it comes to Man City, it’s Rodri who makes them tick. The 27-year old has rightly been lauded as the best on the planet in his position over the past two seasons and his ability to screen the backline, while keeping the ball advanced forward, is key to how Pep Guardiola’s team plays.
We’re taking -125 odds on the Spaniard completing 111 or more passes on Saturday. Across 34 Premier League games, he’s averaged 111.17 passes per game, and he should be able to hit that again against this Man United team, just as he did when he clocked 114 passes against them in their last meeting. United and their poor pressing is a good matchup for Rodri and we can be confident in him landing this prop.
Rodri prop: 111+ total passes (-125 at Tonybet)
Prop bet #2: Leading by example
It’s been another poor season for Man United and there is renewed talk that star player Bruno Fernandes might be looking to leave the club in the summer. It’s easy to understand why he might want to move on and it only adds another layer to our prop bet for Fernandes to have 1+ shots on target.
Through the Premier League season he’s averaged 1.96 shots per 90 minutes played, with an average of 1.18 shots on target per 90. If United go behind, which the oddsmakers expect, then it’s more likely that the captain will look to lead from the front and try to get his team back in the game. After all, we’ve seen Fernandes do that plenty of times before. Not only that, but his position as the team’s penalty taker also increases the chances of this landing.
Bruno Fernandes prop: 1+ shot on goal (+102 at Tonybet)
Prop bet #3: Simply the best
You didn’t think we were going to go without mentioning Man City’s best player this season, did you? It’s been a magnificent season for Phil Foden, who was named Premier League player of the year, and he should continue that excellent play here as we back him to score first.
He’s scored 26 goals across all competitions this season and was City’s highest Premier League scorer behind Erling Haaland. He’s in great form with nine goals in his past nine games in all competitions, and scored two on Sunday as City won the Premier League with victory over West Ham.
Foden scored the first goal that day and has developed a great habit of scoring when his team needs him most in the big games. Back him to find the twine first here.
Phil Foden prop: To score first (+420 at Tonybet)
