Friday’s biggest qualifying game has to be the Group B clash between the Netherlands and France.
The French are clear at the top of the group but haven’t secured their place in Germany for Euro 2024. They face a Dutch team who sit second but are some way behind.
A win here would give the French serious confidence in qualification while the Netherlands really need the three points to get back on track.

Netherlands vs France picks and predictions
The World Cup feels like only yesterday but we’re already drawing closer to next summer’s UEFA European Championship in Germany — the most prestigious trophy in the international game behind the World Cup.
Due to the nature of the qualification campaign, there’s probably a good chance that whoever finishes second in Group B will be able to secure a berth through playoffs, but there are no guarantees.
France are in pole position to reach the Euros, hardly a surprise given they have Kylian Mbappe in their ranks and reached the World Cup Final. The Frenchmen are sitting at the top of Group B with five wins from five, while the Dutch are second with three wins and a loss, having played a game less. They’re level on nine points with Greece while Ireland and Gibraltar make up the numbers in the group.
My best bet for this game is for France to continue their winning record in Group B and pick up the three points. The +125 odds on offer are very attractive, even if this game in Amsterdam is arguably the trickiest in the group.
Not only has France won all games, but they've done so by scoring 11 goals and allowing none. That's an incredible record and shows just how special this team is. For my money, this is the best international team on the planet.
France are missing William Saliba, Dayot Upamecano, and Jules Kounde, three great defenders, but such is their depth that they’ll still be able to play Lucas Hernandez and Ibrahima Konate, two players who should be good enough to deal with a Dutch team also missing a lot of key players.
They’re without Matthijs de Ligt, Cody Gakpo, and Frankie de Jong, amongst others. Without de Jong in particular, they're a far more ordinary team and they’ll really miss his ball retention against a French team who have everything in their locker.
France’s attacking players are amongst the best on the planet. Kylian Mbappe goes without saying but alongside him are Ousmane Dembele, who has electric pace, Olivier Giroud who has 54 goals for his country, and Antoine Griezmann, who has thrived in his new position as the team’s creative outlet.
They have the pace and creativity to cause the Netherlands serious problems and this is a Dutch team who've played with naivety at times. The only game the Dutch have lost in qualifying was the last meeting between these two teams which saw France win 4-0.
It’s unlikely to be as big of a defeat this time in front of their own crowd in Amsterdam, but France have the advantage, making this a must-bet at plus-money odds.

We always start with our best bet for the game which is for France to win. This is a seriously talented team packed with some of the best players on the planet. There is experience in their ranks as well as true, true quality. With that in mind, I can’t see anything but a France win.
Next, we’ll be backing Kylian Mbappe to score. He's the jewel in the crown of the French game and the PSG forward is the best player alive.
It feels like he’s been around forever but it’s worth remembering that he’s just 24 and already has 40 goals for France. He’ll be able to exploit the space on the left flank that Denzel Dumfries leaves open when he attacks. I really fancy him to score here and he scored a brace when these two teams met in March.
Finally, we’re backing Marten de Roon to get booked as he's going to have a tough game against a midfield stacked with talent and he’s somebody who loves a tackle.
He’s already picked up three bookings in eight Serie A games for Atalanta this season and averages 1.3 fouls per game for his club. That number rises to 1.5 in the games he’s played for the Dutch in qualifying and I feel he’s the man most likely to get booked against this great French side.

Netherlands vs France side and Over/Under analysis
If you’ve read to this point, you’ll know I’m backing France to pick up the three points here and I feel that at +125, they offer seriously good value to bettors. If you don’t want to back Les Blues, you can get +220 on a Netherlands win or +240 on the draw.
The last game in Paris finished 4-0 to France but the bookies have the total market as a pick’em with Over 2.5 goals and Under 2.5 goals both at -111.
I expect this game to be more cagey and tighter than the last but would still back the Over. There’s a lot of firepower in this fixture and I can easily see three goals being scored.
