A former champ looks to prove she's still got it, but our UFC Fight Night picks don't think the experience will serve her well against a rising star.

Jessica Andrade vs. Natalia Silva is a women’s flyweight fight serving as the co-main event on this weekend’s UFC Fight Night card, and one of our featured events for UFC betting.

Silva continues her ascent to possible title contention, and she’ll face a formidable challenge in former champion Andrade who will do everything she can to down the rising prospect. My Andrade vs. Silva predictions, however, don’t think it’ll be so easy.

UFC odds have Silva coming in a moderate favorite at -310 and Andrade is a +230 underdog. Here are my best free UFC picks for Saturday night.

Andrade vs Silva prediction and pick

Fight analysis

There’s a lot to like about Silva. She’s shown a varied skill set that has allowed her to defeat all sorts of styles and experienced opponents. At her current rate of development, she could be a future champion.

Andrade is on a two-fight win streak, but it hasn't been enough to make fans forget her previous three losses, all of which ended in finishes. Silva has demonstrated numerous ways to win her fights, and Andrade will be an open book once the action starts.

This could figure to be a striking battle, especially as neither fighter is creative when it comes to their takedown game. Andrade does manage to score takedowns, and that comes due to her constantly pushing forward and pressuring her opponents. Once she feels Silva’s power, however, she’ll realize that her typical approach isn’t going to work.

From what we’ve seen with Silva, she’s a rare finisher with legitimate power and excellent technique. Her conditioning is top-notch also, and she can bring the same level of intensity late as she does from the opening bell.

I can’t outright dismiss Andrade, but Silva has too much going for her to lose to an ex-champ on the decline. If Yan Xiaonan — who is feather-fisted in every sense of the word — could piece Andrade up and knock her out, I don’t see her holding out too long against Silva’s power and technical striking.

Things tend to go bad in a hurry for Andrade when she can’t get an early advantage, and Silva should be able to deny her that and assert a long and tough fight.

Expect Silva to quickly establish the pace, forcing Andrade backward and outstriking her to further cement her status as a rising star in the flyweight division.

Best best analysis

Another aspect of Silva’s game that bodes well is her capability on the ground. Her wrestling is solid, and she secured seven submission wins before entering the UFC. Andrade has been submitted four times, including twice during her recent losing streak.

I can easily see a scenario where Andrade gets rocked in an exchange, and Silva takes her down, putting her in a bad position where she can lock in something tight.

I'm interested to see how Silva handles a former world champion, but I believe she’ll pass with flying colors. My best bet for the fight is Silva winning by submission.
