UFC Fight Night Odds for the Main Event and Co-main Event
Stephen Thompson vs Geoff Neal
Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson (+100) is one of the most personable figures in MMA but he's also one hell of a fighter. Thompson enters as the No. 5 welterweight and is fresh off a unanimous decision win over Vicente Luque in November of 2019.
Prior to that victory, he had gone just 2-3-1 in his previous six fights. That said, one of the losses and draw came against Tyron Woodley in welterweight title fights, while another defeat was a controversial decision against Darren Till.
With a background as a professional kickboxer, Wonderboy is a very polished striker that uses distance, kicks and counters to outpoint his opponents.
Geoff Neal (-125) is No. 11 in the welterweight rankings and is coming off a first-round TKO win over Mike Perry at UFC 245 last December. The 28-year-old is 7-0 in his last seven fights, including 5-0 in the UFC.
Neal is a blue belt in BJJ but is more comfortable standing up. He has explosive power in his punches and kicks and seven of his previous nine wins have come by knockout.
Jose Aldo vs Marlon Vera
Jose Aldo (-138) is a UFC legend but desperately needs a win after losing three fights in a row and five of his last seven. In his most recent fight, the 34-year-old was absolutely pummeled by Petr Yan for the vacant bantamweight title.
Aldo may be on the decline but his losses have come against some of the best fighters in the world, including current champs Yan and Alexander Volkanovski, and former champs Max Holloway and Conor McGregor. Aldo is a terrific striker who kicks with tremendous power and is able to keep fights standing up thanks to his excellent takedown defense.
Marlon "Chito" Vera (+110) is No. 15 in the UFC bantamweight rankings after an upset win over Sean O'Malley at UFC 252 in August. That allowed him to bounce back from a close decision loss to rising young contender Song Yadong in May. Chito is now 6-1 in his last seven UFC fights, with five of those wins coming by finish.
Vera has a background in BJJ and is an excellent grappler, with eight of his 15 victories coming by submission. He's also a strong boxer with some pop in his hands.
