Figueiredo vs Perez Betting Preview
Figueiredo is making the first defense of his flyweight title following a first-round submission victory over Joseph Benavidez in July. That was his second consecutive finish of Benavidez after knocking him out in the second round in February but failing to secure the title since he missed weight.
Figueiredo is 8-1 at the UFC level with six of his eight wins coming via stoppage. The man nicknamed "Deus Da Guerra" (Portuguese for God of War) has terrific knockout power for this weight class, along with top-notch submission skills.
Perez is on a three-fight win streak and is fresh off a victory over Jussier Formiga at UFC 250 in June, where he finished Formiga in the first round with calf kicks. The 28-year-old Californian is 24-5 in his career, including 6-1 since entering the UFC in 2017.
Perez comes from a wrestling background and averages 3.20 takedowns per 15 minutes, but is also a strong technical striker.

Figueiredo vs Perez UFC Prediction and Betting Pick
PREDICTION: Figueiredo to win -290 - The odds seem lopsided in Figueiredo's favor, but the Brazilian was absolutely dominant in his last two fights against Benavidez who is considered among the greatest fighters to never hold a UFC title.
Perez is a solid striker and showed against Formiga that he can use low kicks to his advantage, but he's still nowhere Figueiredo's level when it comes to stand-up. Figueiredo is longer, more explosive, has better defense, and more power.
Perez's best path to victory lies in using his wrestling to maintain control, much like Formiga did against Figueiredo in the only loss on Deus Da Guerra's resume. That said, Figueiredo is still very dangerous on the ground with seven submission wins and could take this one even if it ends up on the mat.
PREDICTION: Figueiredo to win by KO/TKO -115 - While we think Figueiredo is capable of another submission win - after all, if he can sub an elite scrambler like Benavidez he can sub anyone in this division - it's more likely that he tries to keep this fight standing up.
Figueiredo has the durability to walk through anything Perez throws at him and he has absolute dynamite in his hands as well.
Keep in mind that Perez's lone loss in the UFC came via first-round knockout at the hands of Benavidez two years ago. Look for another knockout win from Deus Da Guerra.
PREDICTION: Fight to start Round 3 No -122 - Four of Perez's last five fights have been finished in the first round - three wins by Perez and that previously mentioned loss to Benavidez.
Likewise, five of Figuerido's previous six wins have come by stoppage in the first or second rounds. Forget about the championship rounds, we don't see this one going past the second.
