Shevchenko vs Maia Betting Preview

Valentina "Bullet" Shevchenko will be looking to successfully defend her title for the fourth fight in a row and is fresh off a TKO win over Katlyn Chookagian in February. The 32-year-old is 19-3 in her career, including 8-2 since joining the UFC.

With a background in kickboxing and Muay Thai, Shevchenko is known for her terrific striking but is a dangerous grappler as well, with seven career wins by submission.

Maia is the No. 3 contender in the women's flyweight rankings but oddsmakers see a massive gap between her and Shevchenko. The former Invicta FC flyweight champ is 18-6 in her MMA career, but just 3-2 in the UFC since making her debut in 2018.

Maia is coming off a submission win over Joanne Calderwood, bouncing back from a unanimous decision loss to Chookagian last November. The 32-year old Brazilian prefers to stand up and rely on her boxing but also has solid ground-and-pound ability.

Shevchenko vs Maia UFC Prediction and Betting Pick

PREDICTION: Shevchenko to win via KO/TKO -120 - Let's be real, there's very little chance that Shevchenko loses this fight—which is why she's such an overwhelming favorite.

Bullet has been as dominant a champion in the flyweight division as Amanda Nunes has been in the bantamweight and featherweight divisions, and her only losses in the last decade came via decision to Nunes.

The real trick is finding out where you can get betting value from backing Shevchenko, so the method of victory prop might be the best option.

There aren't many finishers in the women's 125-pound division but Shevchenko is one of them, with four of her last six wins coming via stoppage.

Maia prefers to fight on her feet which could mean big trouble for her against Shevchenko's devastating counters and hand speed. Look for Bullet to win with her third knockout over her last four fights.
