Li Jingliang vs. Khamzat Chimaev is on the main card for UFC 267 betting on October 30 at Etihad Arena on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Jingliang vs Chimaev betting preview

"The Leetch" Li Jingliang is the No. 11 ranked welterweight contender and is fresh off a first-round knockout win against Santiago Ponzinibbio in January. Jingliang is 8-2 in his last 10 fights, earning six Fight of the Night and Performance of the Night bonuses during that span.

With a background in Sanda, the 33-year-old is a high-end striker with explosive power and solid technique. The Leetch averages 4.52 significant strikes per minute, while absorbing 3.65.

Khamzat "Borz" Chimaev burst onto the UFC scene with three straight stoppage wins within a two-month span. He made his promotional debut with a submission victory over John Phillips in July of 2020, before knocking out Rhys McKee less than two weeks later. He entered the octagon again in September and promptly starched Gerald Meerschaert in just 17 seconds.

With such dominant displays, even Dana White jumped aboard the hype train and booked Chimaev against welterweight contender Leon Edwards. Unfortunately, he pulled out of that fight due to the lingering effects of COVID-19 and struggled to train due to lung complications from the virus. However, the 27-year-old now looks hungry to continue his reign of terror. Also competing at middleweight, Chimaev has incredible strength for this division and is an elite wrestler with heavy hands and brutal ground-and-pound.

Jingliang vs Chimaev UFC prediction and betting pick

Chimaev has a sky-high ceiling but the moneyline odds on him seem a bit off, especially after a lengthy layoff and facing a dangerous striker in Jingliang.

Jingliang is Chimaev's toughest competition and he possesses excellent boxing technique and knockout power. However, Jingliang was controlled and battered on the mat by Neil Magny and Jake Matthews, and Chimaev will be even tougher to deal with in that area. In less than 10 minutes in the octagon across three fights, Chimaev has landed 87 significant strikes with 82 of those strikes taking place on the ground.

Six of Jingliang's last eight wins have been by knockout, while six of Chimaev's nine career victories have been via KO/TKO. Whether it's the underdog landing a heavy shot in the standup or Chimaev getting a finish with ground-and-pound, we expect one of these fighters to get knocked out.
