The heavyweight champions were originally expected to fight at the end of 2022, but Usyk requested more time to prepare after defeating Anthony Joshua in August.

Oleksandr Usyk vs Tyson Fury odds analysis

Despite announcing his retirement after beating Dillian White in April, Fury returned to the ring for a trilogy bout with Derek Chisora on December 3. After stopping Chisora in the 10th round to retain his WBC title, Fury went head-to-head with Usyk ringside, where he hurled abuse at the Ukrainian.

Fury is regarded as one of the greatest heavyweight boxers of all time and has notable victories against Chisora (three times), Wladimir Klitschko, and Deontay Wilder (two wins by knockout and draw).

The two-time heavyweight champion was an overwhelming -2,500 favorite for his most recent bout against Chisora and opened at -350 for the trilogy fight with Wilder. The "Gypsy King" is a massive heavyweight who weighed in at 269 pounds against Chisora and combines strong fundamentals, good movement, laser-like accuracy, and a granite chin.

Usyk upset Joshua as a +225 underdog last September to claim the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO, and IBO heavyweight titles. He proved it was no fluke by outpointing Joshua again in the rematch on August 20, where he also earned The Ring title vacated by Fury.

The unbeaten Usyk was the most decorated cruiserweight champion in history before making the jump to heavyweight in October 2019.

At 6-foot-3 and weighing in at 221 pounds, Usyk will be dwarfed by Fury in a potential showdown. However, the southpaw was able to use his pace, technique, elusiveness, and phenomenal footwork to give the much bigger Joshua fits.

How to read boxing odds

The most common way of betting on a boxing match is by picking the overall winner of the bout. With Fury being the favorite for this fight, his odds have the minus sign (-) in front of them at -280. This means that bettors would need to wager $280 in order to win $100. Betting on an Usyk win would pay out more as he's the underdog at +220. This means that a $100 wager would profit $220.

As we get closer to the fight date, other prop bets will become available, such as method of victory and round betting.

The odds listed above are in American format, but can easily be converted to decimal or fractional format via our odds converter tool.
