People bet the coin toss which I believe is -115 both ways or maybe even -120. And a lot of other stupid prop bets which are nothing but guesses. (Total points, even or odd, Total pass completions even or odd, etc ). Point is, no matter how you slice it, those are huge -EV and whether someone gets lucky and wins or not, those type of plays are absolute guaranteed long term bankroll killers.
Now these big -3500 bets. There is only one question that matters. Is it +EV ? And the answer is Yes. I get that you are scared today might be the day it blows up in your face and you lose $3500. Doesn't matter what happens today. Long term you are going to win $100 way more than 35 times per loss. Long term it wins. That's what matters.

Dude, if a bettor/investor takes $3500 and gets a 3% return every other day for a year, he would have almost a million dollars. So NO a "wise" bettor does not get returns anywhere like that. Almost all bettors get negative returns. There is a reason that probably 99% of this board doesn't even have close to $3500 and it's this warped way of thinking.

The lines I am seeing are Kansas -7000..Houston -4300.. I have no ml yet for Bama, which will be in the -7000/8000+range based on a higher spread than Kansas. Your lines are way way off. I lived in Vegas for 15 years, R & S Director at a center strip casino. I know people who bet sports for a living, wise bettors, the exception to the rule. Some known to the public, some not. None of them lay $3500 to get a return of $100. I know because I had to approve their bets and track their play, and hung with some of them socially, asked questions, got to know some of their methods and practices.
They don't lay $3500 to gain $100 because they don't have to. They're sharp.
