La Tech/Geo Southern shouldve gone over relatively easy. Some bad breaks (multiple ints in green zone, dropped TD on final drive, Perfect trick play call and wr drops it preventing TD, Geo Southern held to fg after 1st and goal at 1) Final LA Tech drive went +60 yds in 2:45 despite not using any of 3 time outs, and game ended at 2 yd line. La tech didnt use any of their timeouts, and for some odd reason the play clock wasnt stopping when LT got 1st down.

>> game was fixed !!!... how obvious can it be ? !!!!......entire staff and all players on the take !!!
* I'm filing a report with NCAA !!!!! haha
$ an amendment to earlier rules maybe in effect tonite - "teams do not come back if down....they are ready to play or not....they do not 'find it' in-game"......etc.....
IF the team with the slow start has a dominant Sr player / leader.....watch out
* otherwise....a team will usually saw screw it, where's the party tonite
Memphis QB Brady White in his last game (damn guy's working on his PHD) will at some point get his O moving....tho run game is now non-existent >> likewise......IF Memphis gets up to nice halftime lead....FAU doesn't have that type of player, so is unlikely to mount a comeback...............

Anybody following how the newsletters are doing this year in NCAA and NFL? There are people who track their picks and keep records of the newsletters and I find it funny just how predictably TERRIBLE all these supposed wise guys are at making NFL picks. There must be a dozen or so newsletter they track and not a stinking one of them s above 50% in the NFL, Some are actually below 40%. Fading bad pickers is a terrible strategy but damn, this year it wouldn't be. Random chance would predict at least half of them would be making picks at 50% but not this year. IN College a few newsletters do OK, and I read their input but they are all consistently getting crushed in NFL. Not one of these hacks figured out the books slant the odds in the NFL a few points towards the favorite, and picks a few dogs each week, if they did they could beat a monkey throwing darts.
Lets stick with college foots

For me.... a hunch that Buffalo is the more FOCUSED / READY TO COMPETE.... for FOUR QUARTERS team > so played a very small -4 early.
WHY in TF.... are guys discussing this one as if the HERD will show up fully focused? With their 2 best players on O & D playing....and Rice with their 2 best players OUT (QB/WR)....they get stomped by the fiesty night birds at home? Then don't bother to show vs UAB either. NOW....on Christmas day, with the 2019 CUSA POY and CUSA DPOY out they decide to play hard? This has to have an impact on the team.... not just on the field either.
NOTE: Buffalo vs RICE - Buffalo favored by 12' (raw number)....actual line maybe 9'/10
Buffalo vs UAB - Buffalo by 1' / 2 ....line closer to pick
* I would fade Buffalo in both
BUT...can't ignore the bowl success of the Marshall program, and success of HC Holiday (won 16/19 SU - covered 13 of last 16...under DH 6-1 SU / ATS). Buffalo under LL 1-1 SU / ATS in bowls, but has covered 30 of last 45 games or so.....
IDEAS-
* as we often see....maybe even more so here....if Marshall has come to play, it should be obvious from the start. They will dominate both LOS....stuff the run, bring heat. QB Wells (last 2 games horrific > 26-58/303 - 2 TD / 5 INT) .....will be sharp from the start, protected and with run support. They won't POOF ! - just all of a sudden find inspiration in-game.
* PSYCHOLOGICALLY....Buffalo is the dog here IMO. Both sides know that Marshall is the stronger team. Point spread is meaningless to the players in this case.
Buffalo if up early.... should gain confidence and maintain control. Marshall up early?.. ..tough to say. If RB Patterson is healthy and they are competing well in the trenches.....entirely possible they come back late. I expect a lower scoring 1H, with a higher scoring 2H.
$ at current line.... either play Marshall ML or wait for in-game / halftime play on either team.....for me slight lean under (1H under / maybe 2H over preferred)......BOL............

adding (very small)
Buffalo / Herd 1H UNDER 27

Yeah Zaven such a RUMBLING BEAST that was always hunting down a play .. Do we know what the temp is in that Bulldog locker... Leach's players dropping mid season maybe remainder are wanting to play maybe can't stand the guy .. maybe both .. Pirate never did impress in bowl games and could just see it going one way or another .. Thinking the bankable unit might be Miss State D they've seen this run heavy spread vs Arkansas, Auburn others .. Tulsa TT at 27 think maybe take that under they did pretty good in rush D all year and that would make things a little tough for the Hurricane to get going .. maybe look at H1 .. Tulsa's been doing alot of dicking around on offense H1's this year ..

Jealous that you got San Jose St that low. I’ve circled this one since I saw the bowl slate. Ball St has had a great run, yet that San Jose St team is a force!
Starkel’s last game. That defensive line to is amazing. Don’t really need to bring extra guys, they just play fast, physical, and don’t stop!

Thanks bookieassassin I always enjoy your bowl threads especially. With COVID I think motivation comes into play even more this year.
Here are my few slants: 2 years ago in the ARMED FORCES BOWL, army played houston....army in the armed forces bowl...kicked the crap out of them. Now this year in the LIBERTY bowl, we have army vs west virginia....army in the liberty bowl(its almost not far...and yes I know that army is a td underdog)
Army + the points
I read the local newspapers to these games(they are not hard to find online)....Fla LB said that Oklahoma is not on the level of SEC teams. Oklahoma plays Texas every year in the Red River Shootout in the Cotton Bowl Stadium(so this is going to be like a home game since they are play in the Cotton Bowl GAME). I would say that is enough motivation
Oklahoma + the points
Ohio St vs Clemson....Dabo voting them #11...that should be enough right there. Many people saying since they only played six games, they dont deserve to be in the playoffs. How many times have we heard this kind of scenario in March Madness. this team dont belong or this team dont deserve this seed. Plus, they played last yr. Many times, teams split....few times one team wins both, but I found few times where one team covers both years.
I remember back in mid 90's Notre Dame and Texas Am. Second yr. Irish favored by 8, won by 3....I get feeling we could see same scenario
Ohio St+ the points

I would like to hear BA's thoughts on two games. Texas AandM vrs North Carolina and Clemson vrs Ohio State.
I'm thinking Texas AandM takes it out on North Carolina for not making the four team play off. Another team might lay down when not making it to the bowl they want to be in but not Dabo Swinney's team. He placed Ohio State 11th on his top 25 teams, LOL. I am taking Texas AandM at -7. Speaking of Ohio State, I am looking at their 2020 record and I am not impressed. They had a hard time beating Indiana and Northwestern. Clemson and that insanely good QB Lawrence for me.

I lurk but wanted to log in to say Kirby Smart just said several of the players the media is reporting have opted out will play. Including Mark Webb and Azeez. Richard Lecounte possibly will play too. Good luck this bowl season.
