 Word up yeah saw that and was looking at that bet, I got a couple fun bucks on under 60... The stadium they're playing in is for soccer dont think its real high .. maybe wind creeps in for an impact maybe not we'll see.. 20 is kinda on the cusp of having an impact .. High 20's wind and gusts in the 30's seem like where the damage gets done . Just like we saw in Potato bowl you get into a windy situation and really pays to have a QB who can throw in it .. Pratt struggled quite a bit hence he got sacked like 4 or 5 times in a row .. Not sure how strong the Hawaii QB's arm is but couple windy games in Hawaii this year you might get an idea if it impacts their play much ..

They are playing on a grass field soccer stadium so I feel that will slow things down along with the weather. Also Houston missing something like 20 players. I am going under 29.5 for half and 59.5 game. Game line is dropping as Houston is now -8. Was thinking Hawaii TT over first half but sticking with under you and circa suggest. Thanks again for input.

 Welcome. That’s good information about the stadium being lower. I just checked weather, From 2 to 5, 20 mph wind gusts. Houston has one of the best punt and kick returner‘s and so I think with the wind gusts during the first half it will be difficult for them to gauge and return. Some kicks will go farther/shorter and hang in the air. Those two players and their ability to return kicks are factors  for the total which I think will be affected

Could be but maybe not an impact worth betting on .. I'd say you want really good consistent kicker / punter in this situation who can make a 30 yarder in the wind .. note too that the wind may not impact as much as we think .. 20mph is something and that texas wind stream is stiff .. maybe some of our phony climate experts can chime in on that but my experience has been you wanna bank on a wind impact make sure the stadium is not in the way and the wind is really stiff ... might want to wait till start of the game to guage it .. see refs pants / coaches hair / little garbage papers blowing around stuff like we saw in the potato bowl .. that wind was really intense and holy crap you can imagine how many people lost CRAP LOADS of money doing in game under when they see the ball blowing off the tee and really blowing around after ref's spotted it .. what happened is they had QB's that could sling it down field but finness passes were getting blown around .. need QB's who can cut thru that wind especially when cutting cross field like it appears it will here .. if Houston can stop the run and Cordiero from taking off .. not real easy to do .. should take away those short finesse passes since he can't gun it to them .. might impact his longer passes too .. If the wind is an issue then I think early on this has biggest impact as they likely keep things on the ground early and slowly figure out which passes work .. see Boise St game which had some wind.. kinda started out that way .. lotta running .. quite a few passes dropped / maybe wind threw them off a bit there..

Great advice. I’ll wait till game time and watch for those signs of the wind. I got halftime under 30 1/2 and the line has dropped to 29 1/2. If strong winds, probably bet Houston. I know they can run it. I dropped to 8 as of now.

Yeah I dropped a few bucks on the H1 under the 30 .. think you can find best line if you shop around .. 

As per usual we might even see total go up a bit .. maybe see if 31 shows up at some point?... I think the bookies are pretty sound about making sure just cuz the total gets bet up the H1's and TT's don't get out of whack along with it .. but might be able to find 31 since we've pretty much only see totals get bet up so far and not hard to figure out why with the start of this bowl season ..

COASTAL / LIBERTY H1 UNDER 30.5

Per newswire Liberty football team was more/less out of commission from their covid stint, got back to practice a week ago .. not saying that'll impact them a whole lot but really whole team quarantined for that time seems like would throw you off a bit .. makes sense that the line has moved up from 5 to 7 maybe even dipped above 7 for a bit .. Willis was part of that and one thing to note is that a couple games this year he was way off .. FCS game was wayyy off, NC State was not great .. it seems like disruption is not good for his passing prospects and I'd expect both sides stick to the bread and butter early one here and we get ALOT of running the ball from both these teams plus neither really seem to go up tempo much, don't think we'll see that early in this one as these two feel each other out .. Also Lib has kinda sneaky good D especially up front recall they put up a great fight vs NC State total stayed low.. neither coach seems to mind playing more of a defensive game .. just hope we don't see last second barrage like we got in CC/Appy ..  

Both these teams are capable of scoring a few points vs the weaker teams doesn't mean they'll do it early here, 4 TD's and a FG means these guys are gunna hit quite a bit of pay dirt when I expect they play pretty cautious .. I think this one starts off really slow start and maybe kicker is we see Liberty's offense just off a bit from their layoff .. 

Other consideration is we don't yet know for sure which unit was impacted for CC in their champ game .. I think they pull all the strings to make it to this game but can't say for sure .. any entire unit out would be a problem if it was on D .. if we get clarity there that its full rosters and maybe get last minute bump up to 31 / 31.5 for the H1 line .. which certainly bookies won't want to give us .. I'd make this a full on Bridge Bowl Play... especially at 31.5 ..

I happened to be on Houston too, Bridge.

I was gonna pass on the game but it’s Xmas Eve, I’m high on edibles, I had 6 hours in a quiet cozy house to blow before a tiny family gathering and dinner.  I couldn’t resist!!!  I could have taken a nice nap.  Read a book.  Watched a movie.  Choked my chicken. 6 hours all to myself.  

I chose to bet a bowl game that every bone and instinct in my body said STAY AWAY STAY AWAY.

Instead I bet Houston -7.5.  And first drive, tipped ball, INT, boom!! 7-0.  Then get a nice drive going.  Fairly deep into Hawaii territory and QB hit as he releases, and wobbly INT.  Then a 70 yard run BOOM 14-0.  

One of those bets I said this is over by the 2nd quarter.  And I said why did I bet it?!!!  I love football.  I love action and capping and gambling.  Only football game on.   Couldn’t resist!
