QB  Terrelle Pryor  former PS#1 ... is back for his So. year after rushing for 631 Yards 6Td's and passing for 1311 and 12 Td's and 4 Ints .... alot more Pressure will be on Pryor this year with Wells and Robiskie gone ... Terelle Must stay healthy and accurate and will need to be able to make all the throws unlike the Bowl game when Boeckman had to replace him in obivious passing downs ...
Joe Bauserman saw light duty last year and should see the field in Blowouts in 2009...
 
 
 
RB   Chris Wells is gone off to the NFL ....no worries the Buckeyes should be fine with Dan Herron and Brandon Saine both coming back ... Herron avg 4.9 PC and had 6 TD's in 2008....
Saine has had plenty of Injuries but if he can stay healthy in 2009 he could have a Monster year after avg 8.1 YPC in 2008
 
 
 
WR   Robiske and Hartline are Gone
Dan Sanzenbacher 21-272
Roy Small 18-149 
Devier Posey  11-117    will all need to step up in 2009 , but the Passing game might become an after thought in this Offesne
Cris Carter's  son Duron might make an impact as a True Fr. in 2009
 
 
OL   needs to rebuilt ... but there is alot of High recruits and talent to wortk with
LT Mike Adams is a 6-8 Masher that should shine in 2009, but he will need to stay healthy, something that has  been a problem
LG Jim Cordle is a Former starter in 2007 and keeps gettign bumped out of the Lineup .. He might be the Key in 2009
'C    Micheal Brewster So. was a Super recruit .. High Motor and very angry man on the line ... should Dominate at times
RG  Justin Boren transfered from MIchigan ,,,
RT  from what IO read this Job is up for grabs ...
Not Much time for this Unit to Jell with USC coming to town in Week 2

WR core should be fine, Robiskie will hurt but Hartline was trash and never got along w/TP or Tressel to begin with.
 
OL will be young, but most saw playing time last year so they should be fine.
 
Entire offense will be different, adjusting to TP......outta be interesting.

Ohio St very interesting team.....fire Tressel ?......you were RIGHT .... Dub Up to predict Texas to whip their ass LY .....personally i thought buck's might win that game ......LOVED that early 10' i had.....know they had issues but thought they "appeared"  really outmatched in most phases.....
** Has anyone ever done a better job ....of  HIDING NFL talent than Tressel ?????????........really bad offensively......but allow a (flat).....horns team > 33 first downs or so?  ....how many NFL players you need over there to make a stop ?....betcha buckeyes have plenty of excuses for LY.....no excuse for OL to not simply dominate

Yeah I thought Texas would hammer Ohio St. ly in the Fiesta ...If the Horns made a few stops they would have covered easily in the 2nd half .

The Big 10 really needs Michigan to regain it's form .. 

Back to Ohio St., other than the games at PSU, and home vs USC has a very winnable schedule ... While they might slip up in 1 other game 9-3 at the worst and Maybe , Maybe 11-1....I don't see 12-0 being possible ...8-4 most likely would get Tressel fired

Texas really was not interested in the Fiesta Bowl.  They were still crying over the fact that they got out voted for the Big 12 title, and a chance to go to the NC game.  Still, they won the game, thanks in part to Ohio State's defensive calls in the last series, that were hard to believe. 
 
This year, the Big 10 is very weak.  The fact that they schdeule so many non-con against MAC teams and FCS teams belies the fact that they are one of the weaker BCS Conferences.  Ohio State and Penn State really have no legitimate contenders to deal with other than themselves.  Penn State is all but guaranteed an 11 wins season at worst, with the schedule that they play.  That makes the USC game critical for Ohio State.  I can see that game going either way.  But other than losses to USC and Penn State, I really do not see who else can beat Ohio State.

Texas is almost playing in the Sun Belt this year...

I agree Penn St. and Ohio St are the only teams that can win the BIG 10 this year ...

Team in the Big 10 that might be a team that makes some noise is Illinois.  They had a good season 2 years ago and last year they struggled.   Minnesota?

We predicted the fall of Illinois last year because they lost Mendenhall, and Juice could not do it alone.  This year, Illinois returns most of their offense, but loses 6 starters on defense.  Ron Zook has a habit of shifting the blame for a poor season on to his assistant coaches, and making wholesale changes.  This last off season was no exception.  The question for Illinois is how many poinjts will their defense give up, and how will they react after two straight poundings early by Ohio State and Penn State, who theyplay back to back in games 3 and 4 for them.

D-Line  Lots of Depth returns with 8 Players with 43 Starts under their Belts ...Doug Worthington ,Cameron Heyward,Thaddeus Gibson Lawernce Wilson Dexter Larimore,Nathan Williams ...should all make this the Best Buckeyes D-Line Since 2004...
 
 
LB's   Ross Homan and Austin Spittler return as well as Tyler Moeller and Brian Rolle ... Replacing team Leaders and Studs James Laurinaitis and Marcus Freeman is a Tuff task but the Buckeyes should be upto the Challenge with the Front 4 being so Strong
 
 
Secondary    Lost both starting CB's to the NFL
Kurt Coleman and Anderson Russell will be 3 year Starters at safety ... Chimdi Chekwa appears to have one CB spot wrapped up and Devon Torrance might take the Other ... this was the BIG 10's best Pass defense Last year...
 
 
The Schedule Looks simple on paper other than USC and at PSU but that's why they play the Games ... 
The Key will be Pryor and his Passing ... If he has trouble Teams will stack the Box with 8 or 9 ....

Butch Davis is a terrific coach in my opinion.  I wonder why Cleveland ever got rid of him, he's starting to turn UNC into a legit football school.  I do recall Butch taking the Clowns to the playoffs.  If Weis goes he would be on the top of my list.

#11 might be about right for the Heels

These games scare me

at Michigan, Michigan St.,USC,BC , at Pitt ,at Stanford ...

I am starting to believe they go no better than 3-3 in those games

QB  Kellen Moore should flourish in his So. year...
after 69.4%  25 TD's 3486 Passing Yards as a FR. ...
Moore should also cut down on the INTS (10)

Running Game never worked in the 3 tight ball games LY
The O-Line is the Key reason for the running game not being there..
Jeremy Avery avg 5.5 YPC in 2008 4 TD's and 16 Catches as well
DJ Harper avg 4.8  
Doug Martin and Karvis Hodge should provide some Power
FB Richie Brockel is a Key Blocker in the Broncos schemes ...
he will be a 3rd year starter
 
 
 
WR  Losing 4 of the top 5 Recievers from 2008
6-3 200lb Austin Pettis should be a Stud this year after 49-567 and 9 TD's in 2008...
Titus Young 5-11  165LB soaking wet with Boots on should be an electric Playmaker in 2009/// Young has injured for much of 2008 playing in only 3 Games after having a Nice FR year in 2007 44-639  5 TD's ....
Tyler Showmaker 6-1  214lb should step up this year as well
The Top 3 TE's return from 2008....
 
 
O_Line   Played 11 different combos in the 13 games in 2008...
While they do Lose 2 Starters ,Boise does return 4 Lineman that played in 12 games in 08...
Both OT's sat out the Spring ,,,,
it goes without saying this UNIT will be the Key to the Offense in 2009.....

This Unit is full of Players who got some Burn last year
DT Chase Baker has played great in the Spring
DT Billy Winn played in 13 games as a FR. backup ly and 5.5 TKFL
DT Fr. Micheal Atkinson should see the Field at 6-0 325LB+... Had a 25 Yd run at FB this spring
reshirted last year and was Def scout team MVP /...
 
 
 
LB's    2 Starters are gone
David Acrey will start again at Mike LB
So Many Fr and So's dominate this unit and the LB's will be the key to the Broncos Defense in 2009....
 
 
 
Secondary   4 of the 5 starters return in 2009
Loaded with 17 of the 22 ints coming back
S Jeron Johnson is everywhere leading the team with 98 Tkls
George Iloka 6-3  210+ played as a Fr last year and had 63 Tkls
Both Wilson and Thompson return at CB and the Depth looks great as well
The secondary is the Best unit on this team by FAR IMO ....
 
 
Peterson is an amazing coach ... he always seems to get 110% from his players ....
The schedule after Oregon only has 3 Games that look dangerous and even those might be Gimmies

We think that Boise beats Oregon at home.  THis is being billed as the biggest game in Boise State history at home.  It is hard enough for teams to beat them in Smirfland.  Boise State has lost 1 home game since 1999.  That was in 2001.  That, if our count is correct, is 50 straight home wins.  That is a lot.  This is going to be game 1 for Oregon, under a new HC who is having problems filling in his coaching staff. 
 
When I say "we", I am referring to the company that I have.  We do research for many of the mags that you read.  Most of our research is on the technical end of things.  Records, angles, trends, coaching changes, scheduling, etc...  We then supply some mags with this information, and they make their own assessments as to how good teams are, or are not.
